This 100%. Get the giant attenas, I just keep like a spare 5 on hand. Whenever a friend for whom I build or family member has consistent wifi or bluetooth issues, swap them in, if it goes away send them the amazon link then have them return mine when theirs arrives: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082SHKT3Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_NC1P7T15JZCH1AT48XMF (just the most common one, buy what makes sense for you - this one is huge, like 1/3rd the height of most cases)
This happened to once. Check if you have these antennas Bingfu Dual Band WiFi 2.4GHz 5GHz 5.8GHz 3dBi MIMO RP-SMA Male Antenna (2-Pack) for WiFi Router Wireless Network Card USB Adapter Security IP Camera Video Surveillance Monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082SHKT3Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_W81NY7EJHJVBWS3XJJ61
Yes, but they are not based on OPs operating theory (and not very cheap).
If OPs theory worked, you would find little $4 directional antennas with nothin more than a little shield behind one of these.
The should be in the box. Wifi antenna are standard so you can just pick up a pair on Amazon to use.

Do you know if these would work? I know the threads and pins are correct but I just don't know if there's anything obviously wrong with these I'm missing?

The motherboards come with the antenna, however if yours was misplaced or missing, you can just order a pair on amazon, cheap enough.
Busted antenna.
This one was recommended in another thread. No wires, either.
I had the same problem with my rig when I tried to use a spare antenna that I liked more than the one that came with my mobo. Connector ended up being frayed under the shrink wrap.
Swapped back to the (undamaged) one that came with my mobo and Bluetooth worked fine again.
Typically the antennas are needed for both. If you are worried about size you can usually get https://www.amazon.com/Bingfu-Rosewill-Gigabyte-Wireless-Security/dp/B082SHKT3Q/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=wifi+antennas&qid=1617172383&s=electronics&sr=1-3.
It's called RP-SMA, you can buy little antennas that attach directly,
https://www.amazon.com/Bingfu-Rosewill-Gigabyte-Wireless-Security/dp/B082SHKT3Q
Or ones with cables and put them elsewhere for better reception.

Have you considered getting nicer/larger monitors? Also if you don't like that shark fin wifi antenna then you could get something like this to replace it.
Search amazon/ebay/whatever for wifi antenna, you'll find tons of em, can either buy them as packs of two or buy two individual ones if you want, cheapo example https://www.amazon.com/Bingfu-Rosewill-Gigabyte-Wireless-Security/dp/B082SHKT3Q
If just for compatible, this will work. Remember to buy the RP-SMA male.
A short search pulled up these: https://www.amazon.com/Bingfu-Rosewill-Gigabyte-Wireless-Security/dp/B082SHKT3Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=wifi+antennas&sr=8-3
Any that are actually "RP-SMA Male Wifi Antenna" should work.
The threads are standardized, any generic set will work: https://www.amazon.com/Bingfu-Rosewill-Gigabyte-Wireless-Security/dp/B082SHKT3Q/
You can get plastic antennae that are the same https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082SHKT3Q/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_GFWXEGG15ZW74G6763Q3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I reused them from an old wifi card, but these ones on Amazon look like an exact match.
I also ordered these ones for aëśthętïçš.
2.4G WiFi Mini Antenna, Independent Channel https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09WMHXZ5P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_MDQF40CW38EP570CMRXH
I bought these for my B550i; direct replacement and no wires or antenna mount to deal with.
These should work well.

So you see connectors like this on the back? They may be on the motherboard or a separate card. The PC should have come with antennas like these that screw on, you can buy replacements if you don't have them.
And the "antennas" I'm referring to on the inside, are where the cables leading from the external ports connect to the actual card. These tiny cables could come unplugged, but this is most likely not your issue if you actually just don't have external antennas at all.
the external antenna?
i took my external antennas out, and converted them to internal ones. I just changed out the lines leading from the wifi / bluetooth card. I had to temporarily remove the graphics card to work on it. this is the antenna I installed in mine.

But if you really want a new external antenna its like one of these
but you need to know if the old ones are male or female. its 1/4 inch antenna fitting, and if the antenna has a pin inside it. then its male. hope this helps
I use these ones from amazon :) Performance even seems improved from from the stock Strix antenna
Ye those are the antenna connectors but you're missing the antennas, that'd explain why you're getting poor signal :)
Can get replacements pretty cheap, https://www.amazon.com/Bingfu-Rosewill-Gigabyte-Wireless-Security/dp/B082SHKT3Q
Just search Wifi Antenna on any shopping platform and you should be able to find it. The connect is RP-SMA type.
