I'd recommend downloading some ebooks pdf's and wikipedia (via apps like Kiwix) and keeping a download of maps like using apps similar to Sygic.
for those worried about not having electricity, i recommend a water wheel type turbine next to a stream as a best bet for power, possibly solar panels if you can get your hands on the hardware for them, keeping a stash of emergency candles, and maybe having a backup fuel sorce or two, my personal favorite being this wood stove and electrical output device on amazon

actually i have the camping solar + battery pack... it works but the panel is 4 ipad wide...
When i say it "works" you need direct sunlight or it flops... so I would say 4-5 hours of sunlight only.
