I got a black and Decker electric blower/mulcher combo with a metal impeller. The blower isn't amazing, but the vacuum works alright. For how inexpensive it was, I am extremely happy with it. I have a lot of old oak trees that overhang my flat driveway and debris tends to settle in front of the garage from the wind. Keeping a bag on my lawnmower and using the vacuum once a week helps keep everything relatively clean. An added benefit is all the compost I get for my garden.
I used just the blower and had the mower set up for mulching for a while. The first time I made the switch to the vacuum and bagged grass clippings, I was amazed at the difference in how clean everything looked.
Edit: this is the one I got: Black & Decker BV5600 High Performance Blower/Vac/Mulcher https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FREQBXE/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_P4DZvbWPGSGKH
I've used a B&D Leaf Hog for 3 years. It has served me well and I usually collect about 80 bags of leaves per year. The metal impeller can handle acorns and twigs. Mainly I just want to recommend a blower with an oscillator attachment like mine has. It generates a pulsing action that works leaves loose really well. Without it, leaves, grass and shrubs just kinda get matted down and the leaves don't move as much.
A leaf mulcher would be perfect:
