I got a black and decker cordless screw driver for this exact purpose. +/- $20 on Amazon. I'll track down a link shortly for you. Worked like a charm before I said fuck it for on the press trimming and went back to my zip trim.

It takes AA batteries so you can replace them instead of having the factory battery slowly fuck off like they do.
I've seen a lot of Cordless Screwdrivers used.
They are really cheap. You get the battery, motor and a planetary gearbox all in one.
Settle down there, AvE. Just because MSRP isn't $600 doesn't mean this is a "drilldo." It's a professional cordless screwdriver with a small footprint and precision speed and torque settings along with gyroscopic rotational controls.
This is a drilldo
This bad boy right here: BLACK+DECKER Cordless Screwdriver (AS6NG) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004HY3APW/
…and a bunch of rechargeable batteries, and a good battery charger: La Crosse Technology BC1000 Alpha Power Battery Charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004J6DLD4/
Rationale: when you move into a place you are forever assembling furniture, or need a handy (crappy!) screwdriver for whatever odd task you’re doing. I had one that plugged to the wall by B&D (BLACK+DECKER Cordless Screwdriver, 2.4V (DP240) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VKX0LA/), but eventually the battery has given out, so a replaceable one works well, especially if you can get them into the renewable battery train.
Having an electric screwdriver to: * assemble most of a piece of ikea furniture * screw/unscrew electric switch plates * screw/unscrew door locks/hinges * open kids toys to replace batteries * …etc…
It’s really handy to have one. For rechargeable batteries, I replace X-Box controllers every other week, clock batteries, TV remotes, just whatever, and having a good charger where you can mix AA/AAA is amazing.
My favorite is this: BLACK+DECKER Cordless Screwdriver (AS6NG) AA Battery - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004HY3APW/
SKIL Rechargeable 4V Cordless Screwdriver with Circuit Sensor Technology, Includes 9pcs Bit, 1pc Bit Holder, USB Charging Cable - SD561201 , Red https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C4916LS/
…as a new homeowner you’re forever assembling furniture, randomly screwing/unscrewing stuff, and a simple screwdriver (and rechargeable battery setup) is a great gift. It’s not a great screwdriver, but it’s so much better than twisting a manual one a thousand times when you’re assembling a set of IKEA chairs.

Not all their tools are bad.
For instance, this AA powered screwdriver combined with this set of bits makes a really handy kit for light around-the-house work like assembling furniture. Running off alkalines means that it won't go dead sitting on the shelf for six months between jobs.
A power drill might be good, as long as it's one that is more pencil-shaped than gun-shaped. As far as attachments for it, if I'm looking at this for polishing (possibly dipping these brushes in THF) and this for sanding, would that work for polishing plastic?
Again, you're thinking too much into this. Granted, everyone should already have one of those lying around if they are into BIFL stuff, cause fixing things means that you can BIFL. But in the rare event that you don't have one, a simple, basic, cheap drill whose only purpose is turning a hex bolt of a coffee grinder that requires next to zero effort (torque), and will only be used for <1 minute per day, will do. So if you don't have a nice drill yet to fix things with, yes, you may want to get a nice expensive shiny drill, but there is the possibility that you know that is overkill for grinding coffee, so a cheap driver will do. May not last 30 years, but it will certainly get the job done for many years, by which time you'll probably realize it's quick and easy, but also kinda weird, so you'll end up buying a $100+ coffee grinder (or having one given to you). Any more shit you'd like to dig into sherlock? Go for it. This is a null topic at this point. I'm done discussing this pointless shit with you.
