Black N Red is an option, but the low page count makes it as expensive as Rhodia or Leuchtturm1917.
I use a Leuchtturm1917 A5 notebook in the lab now. You can probably find A5 lined books for around $16 if you deal hunt.
I use the small hardbound version for work notes. They're nice. I got them here and because I always buy stuff from Amazon, I just throw them in my cart whenever I can.
After repeated encouragement around here, I tried out the Black n' Red casebook (available on amazon), and it is really FP-friendly. Paper is smooth, almost as much as Clairefontaine, and has a slight amount of showthrough with my 1.1mm stub nibs, but I don't find it distracting.
I saw these on the fpnetwork but wasn't sold on them but your endorsement has convinced me to give them, thanks.
I thought they were 8.5x5 though for the hardcover. It was for these, no?
I am sorry this happened. You can reclaim our life but your safety in your building matters. How old was the man? Is chemical use or age/dementia a possibility? There are steps you can take to reclaim your safety. Start by keeping your phone with you and if needs be keep it on video or use some sort of recording app so you have proof of interactions. You can do that if you have it on some sort of lanyard around your neck. Just delete the recordings when nothing happens. ALWAYS have your phone with you, including by your bed at night. Not to use or check but for 911 if you need to make that call.
If you start looking for bad things you will find them, your brains gets a kind of a rush from fear, unpleasant though it is and eventuallyh you will be done a nasty rabbit hole. There is still beauty in the world, good people and h onestly hope with every sunrise. Look for that too please.
Relative to you building and this man: You need to start keeping a journal, date, time, location and event. Should this happen even one more time please report it, management and if he threatens you again, at least file a report with the local police. He does sound like he may be mentally unbalanced. But you need not let him control your life. Walks, meditation, friends can all give you peace and strength. You can find a way to bring beauty into your life--and I write this from personal experience.
For the journals, write up what happened, hard copy, and once you have a hardbound journal past it in as the first page. There are many bound journals that show when a page is torn out Good luck. They both look great!
I don't know about Pelle (the only thing I could find after googling looked like a Midori Traveler's Notebook, which wouldn't fit 240 pages), but Rhodia Webnotebooks can be had in A5 size, with 96 leaves/192 pages, cream-colored paper, with a variety of rulings. I can speak from personal experience that they work extremely well with a variety of fountain pen inks! Leuchtturm also has very nice fountain pen ink handling (in my experience, though I've seen reports otherwise), and Black n' Red has played nicely with fountain pens, as well (though it's so smooth that some nibs don't play well with it!).
Hmm. I think it mainly depends on the type of ink that you use. I purchased this notebook a while ago and it seems to hold most inks pretty well. My Iroshizuku ink stays pretty wet on the pages, but it might be the pen that I use. I haven't tested it with a dip nib to isolate it down. Overall, its a really nice notebook, though!
I've seen a lot of people recommend Rhodia brand notebooks, but I haven't gotten a chance to test them myself. Hope this helps! :D
I like the moleskine notebooks, also the "Black n' Red" (which I personally use) notebook which you can get at officemax has a nice form factor
