FYI: I noticed the posts mentioning the use of remote covers to prevent breakage. I found that a lot of them interfered with pressing the edge of the trackpad, which is needed sometimes for quick rewind/fast forward. I purchased this a few years ago, so far so good (I don't use the wrist strap.)
Skip the silicone cases and use a hard plastic case , I use the white one
No problem with skip

Concerns about that are why I went with a hard case with the appropriate edges open, rather than a silcone case.
I have the following case, but I'm sure there are numerous similar options: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019AEN23S/
This is the one I use: Black NeoFit Case - A Protective Case with Wrist Strap for the NEW Apple TV Remote https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019AEN23S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_eQziAbFYW4XYZ
I'm planning on trying the ~~elago~~ ACT LABS one because it doesn't block the edges of the touch surface.
