Tek-Loks aren't designed to be put on a belt while wearing it. They are set up for competition and duty belts that are seperate from the pants belt. Depending on which holes you use and which orientation the Tek-Lok is in, it should be doable.
Since you mentioned elsewhere this is for IDPA, why not get a competition belt as well? I have this one and it's good enough for now.

Look at Duty Belts that police often wear. Padded and very stiff. Does a really nice job of distributing the weight. I think mine is a Blackhawk.

The buckle is fine, but I'd be tempted to go for something with a metal cobra style buckle if you want something a little more durable.
