I’ve used this light and have had awesome results… link to light.
You’re doing great. Get a good light. Don’t over water. Fertilize sparingly in a few weeks. Most of all, be patient.
Any 3-5 gallon grow bags on amazon. Cheap. A decent LED light on amazon that can do a 2x4 or 3x3 area. I’ve been using this one.
A decent tent with air filtration is necessary unless you’re going to use a closet or something but then you’ll have to still find a way to filter the smell out of the room if you don’t want it always smelling.
I used North Atlantic Seed Company twice so far and they have great seeds and freebies similar to what the other guy mentioned.
Right now I’d say I’ve spent $600 on a tent and a light and grow bags and seeds. I’ve definitely increased my electric bill a bit too. This is my second time growing indoors. Last year I did outdoors and it was just bags and soil and seeds. But it took like 6 months to get a harvest.
-Using Fox Farm Happy Frog soil.
-Grow Light - BLOOM PLUS LED Grow Light BP 3000W
-Light is approximately 21 inches from the top leaf.
-Light is on an 18/6 schedule. -This sprouted exactly one month ago on 2/22. This is my first serious grow, so I have been trying to hold back from overwatering. I’ve been waiting about 4 days in between waterings or even longer to ensure it is dry enough before watering again. Have not given it any sort of additional nutrients.
To anyone who is following this, DO NOT BUY THIS LIGHT. One whole light bar on this burnt out within minutes. I will say I was within the 30 day time frame so I was able to get a refund with no questions asked. I purchased this instead.
I have 2 in a 2x4 so I think 1 in a 4x4 wouldn’t work well. They claim 2.5x2.5 veg and 2x2 for flower.
Bloom Plus has a Black Friday deal on a light they claim will work for 4x4. Closer to $200 though.

Yeah only 120w.
You need.both switches on and for it to be closer. My 90w only lasts for about 2 weeks if I'm lucky.
That light won't get you very far either.

If you can budget a $190 upgrade maybe consider
I've been in love with my BloomPlus Bp3000 so much that I bought a second. Here it is on Amazon
Do you know if this is a good light? It has great reviews and uses Samsung diodes, the price seems to good for it not have any downsides though. I'd really like a 4x4 tent, and this looks like it'd be good for that size.

This guy is underpowered in MG standards, but used in conjunction with those other 2 lights, you'd be able to get a decent haul. I have one in my 4x4 and it has kicked the shit out of the ufo equivalents as well as the blurples I've tried.
Cool, thanks that’s really helpful. 4x4 sounds like a winner. Money wise I budgeted up to $1,000 USD. Right now, I’m around $500 with everything I’ve picked. I’m having trouble finding the kingbrite equivalent on alibaba, but found this one (missing mean well)

If you have to get a light on amazon I use this light in a 3x3
240 bucks with Samsung diodes. The driver is meanwell clone. Is it worth spending twice as much for less watts?
This light is 300 watts for 240ish bucks right now on sale.
I would still recommend getting a meiju or kingbrite from Alibaba.
Huh, interesting. I do like that these lights are modular and american made.
There does seem to be an amazon special today on a QB board I was looking at here that I'm considering. It's samsung diodes, but not the lm301s.
Huh, yeah good to know. I'm sure that's true for COBs.
Well I did find another good looking QB here and some youtuber has an amazon promo code for it insidehydro1 so it's another good deal. I might go with this one, we'll see.
Thanks. I'm using a BloomPlus 3000
You don't have to spend the kind of money some people are talking about but you will have to put a little cash into a light for decent flower. Don't worry about watts endless you're particularly worried about energy usage, focus more on the ppfd output/footprint.
A light similar to the MarsHydro2000 will get you respectable results. I found one of these for a little cheaper than it's currently listed and have been happy enough for the time being.
I have a light by this brand and it's been great. On sale right now too. 300w for under $200 is hard to beat.
Spend a little more on this one and get Samsung 301H diodes instead of the Samsung 2835's:

What lights are you using now?
My UFO Led is old and outdated.
It's not all about how many watts.
Depending on the LED diodes, some are way more efficient.

Seems like a good value with the current coupon. Same technology as Mars hydro, just more power for less money 🤷
Really need some help, stuck on what light to choose to fill out the rest of my tent. Currently have an 2000w off brand full spectrum with lm281+b. Need to fill out the other half of the tent and was going to go with another 2000w with lm301b, but keep finding these deals on 2500/3000w boards with different samsung diodes then the 301b/h. My question I'm stuck on is do I go with a 2000w board with 301b or a 3000w board with different samsung diodes? The 3000w seems to have better paper specs, any input appreciated! Pic of the space I'm working with and links to the lights below.
