I still recommend Anker Soundbuds Slim. 25$ for a pair of decent sounding BT in ear buds. Also IPX7 rated. 10 hours. BT 5. They have a great built quality.
I have had the old version with 7 hour battery, IPX5 rating and BT 4.1 since 2017. Still working great. Be aware what version you buy and get. Not because the older ones are that much different, but just make sure you get what you pay for.
And no I dont really care about them not being “True wireless”. I dont understand the want to pay for such a small difference.

Best $25 I've ever spent. I've had them 6 months and use them daily. Absolutely no complaints. Funny enough, i had it narrowed down to Anker vs. Taotronics in the end. They look and function almost identically. I went with Anker due to brand name recognition and their customer service is amazing.

I know these aren't as cheap as $5 wired earbuds... but have you tried a cheap pair of bluetooth earbuds to see what the experience is like? I really ask because you saying you're a mechanic and if you haven't experienced cable free listening while you're working.. it's pretty awesome. Even when I'm just riding the bus, I hate fuddling with cables in and out of pockets and it getting caught on my jacket and all that. The minor inconvenience of charging them every once in awhile is far outweighed by the benefits of wireless freedom from being tethered to my device.
Hab mir die hier von Anker gekauft. Für mich sind die ausreichend und bringen mich über die Woche. Bei amazon kann man ja auch zurückschicken, wenn die einem nicht gefallen, also solltest du damit keine wirklichen Probleme haben.
i recently purchased anker soundbuds slim. they ran me ~25$ (CAD). i LOVE them & am so glad i didn’t shell out a bunch of money for something maybe technically “better”. sound quality is good, secure in my ears, easy set-up/connect. i only use them for listening to podcasts, not really a music workout girl, so i can’t comment on how quality translates in that context. but for my needs they absolutely rule. good luck!!
I'm no audiophile, especially so when I'm at the gym, so I usually just buy cheaper ones on Amazon. I bought the Anker Soundbuds Slim a couple months ago and so far I love them. Paid less than $35, battery life is advertised at 10hrs, and honestly it's probably pretty close to that.
Powerbeats3 are fantastic, but so are these Anker sound buds slim ones from Amazon. Cheap at $25 and pretty great sound quality. I couldn't get my Bose ones to work with the bike. Terrible connection.
Bluetooth or wired?
Either way, Amazon has lots of options. I got these:
https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Headphones-Lightweight-Connection-Sweatproof/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1514146737&sr=8-5&keywords=bluetooth+earbuds
Great for the money!
I got a pair for work called Anker Soundbuds Slim, I found em on amazon for like $27 and they’re some of the best earbuds I’ve ever worn; and they’re noise isolating so it’s like wearing earplugs that play music. battery life is solid and the sound quality is way better than I expected from a pair of ~$30 earbuds. the noise isolation isn’t amazing but it’s definitely noticeable and I’ve even worn them to block out sound without even having music playing. link for the interested
Not OP, but I just got some Anker Bluetooth earbuds from Amazon, and they are surprisingly good quality for $25. Battery life is about 6 hours, sound quality is good, and they’re comfortable. They don’t report battery status to my phone like my last (more expensive) pair did, but that’s pretty minor.
Not sure if this link will work on mobile, but they’re the Anker Soundbuds
Bought these Anker headphones from Amazon a while back and can reccomend for running: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_JED7BbSTA63XH
Come with a variety of earbud sizes which I would recommend experimenting with to make sure they are comfortable and stay in your ear. Battery life is good and the volume control is smaller than other Bluetooth headphones I've used, so doesn't feel heavy and smack you in the face. Also comes with a small clip which I use to keep the volume control in one place attached to my collar. Bluetooth connectivity is good and sound quality is decent but nothing mind blowing if youre an audiophile. Hope this helps.
Its gotten way better over the years though. A friend of mine recently bought 30$ Bluetooth headphones off Amazon, Link for reference. I tried them out of curiosity and they actually sound really good. They definitely match any $30 wired headphones I've heard
Edit: And on the higher end I have a pair of JayBirds that give pretty amazing sound quality over Bluetooth
If you're looking for a cheap pair of headphones that have Bluetooth in the meantime, I bought this pair on Amazon for $35CAD like 2 years ago, and they're still excellent.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_r0p4EbV8ZD78X
I know theyre not over the head, but they have good bass and decent battery life.
From what I have seen in youtube videos, FT5D has same poor performing Bluetooth as my FT3D. Let us know if you find otherwise!
I have quite a few BT mono & stereo devices and the only one that worked was an older "Anker SoundBuds Slim Wireless Headphones", circa 2017. These are stereo, but in general I think you'll have better luck with older mono earpieces that don't support newer stereo BT Profiles with play/pause controls.
What’s your opinion on the airpods vs generic Bluetooth earphones that wrap around your neck? I have these and I find them to be perfect for my workouts/runs and probably only charge them once or twice a week:
Airpods are like 10x the price so what’s the greatest benefit over something cheaper like this? I do want the AirPod pros (or whatever the in ear ones are called) when they get cheaper though
My bluetooth headphones are these £19 Anker ones from Amazon. Im not an audiophile but i think they're really good value. Definitely sound good enough for me.
I listen to audiobooks for slow runs and for the first 80% of my long runs. Music for the end of long runs and for faster runs.
The Anker headphones on Amazon are pretty good for me. Sorry for the long link not sure how to shorten it. https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Headphones-Lightweight-Connection-Sweatproof/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=asc_df_B01N6DC2ZE/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=293004446370&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6279282683616815215&hvpone=&h...
I'm sorry :(
Theres a really decent pair of bluetooth headphones on amazon for only like $35! I bought them months ago and use them for work. Their sound quality is pretty good too!
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ofTnEbPBFNDKB
I've had the older version of these anker soundbuds from amazon for more than a year. So far so good.
I sweat buckets. They work for everything but sweaty kettlebell swings.
I run in rain, snow and non life treating hail. Basically until there is no lightnings I'm fine. I run with iPhone 6 as well and my method is to put it in to a zip bag, the same as you would use on the airport for liquids and comsetics. Touch screen still works trough the bag and I am using bluetooth headphones so there is no need for any connectors going into the bag. As for the headphones I am using cheapest decent ones that I don't mind destroying. Currently I am using Anker Soundbuds Slim which I bought for £18 and they still going since June last year so pretty much trough all the seasons.
I bought these wireless headphones (only 26$ USD) and they work great for my peloton workouts! Tried with my wired ones at first and they were too short to not be annoying.
I was in an similar situation. I thought that I could use the build in speaker for music and podcasts. I ended up buying these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Headphones-Lightweight-Sweatproof-Travelling-Black/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1549941738&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=anker+bluetooth+headset&dpPl=1&dpID=31nM61dNLkL&am...
I been using them since Christmas and they are great especially for £18
Music and podcasts for me! I have these cheaper bluetooth earphones. I run a lot and they never come out of my ears, and the warranty is great (I had mine replaced after a year for free).
I am loving my Anker Soundbuds. Reasonable price and they stay in my ears even when I'm super sweaty. I also love that they have a magnet so you can clip the buds together to stay around your neck when you're not using them.
I can't recommend these enough for blutooth headphones that are good quality, reaosnably priced, and sound good.
For the sake of 20 quid, it's the way forward, as wires are disappearing for good
I have Anker Soundbuds Slim+ and they work decently well. Enough battery life for a 7-8 hour ride, sweat proof, etc
People will tell you that it's unsafe to wear them, and I definitely don't wear them on group rides, but for solo stuff / commuting I'll wear these.
These have worked well for me.
I do notice the ambient noise is louder when I use wired headphones, but I haven't had any problems with actual play sounds with these.
Edit: didn't read closely enough that OP is on Android. I have been using these on iPhone.
I bought anker slimbuds blue tooth headphones and i will never go back to the dongle. The pixel had such good battery life having your blue tooth on and connected won't destroy your battery. Also the ear buds have a very good charge time. I wear them at work and if you shut them off when your not using them you'd have no problems. The reason i write this up is because i tried 3rd party dongles and nothing could keep my chorded headphones from crackling and cutting out if i even walked around a little. Here's a link, take a look at least!
[Anker Soundbuds Slim] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_ykPlBbVEYVVFX
If you go the cheap wireless route (like I have) I’d recommend Anker’s sound buds slim. Cheap and have been the best (so far) of the few I’ve gone through .
Anker SoundBuds Slim Wireless Headphones Bluetooth 4.1 Lightweight Stereo IPX5 Earbuds with Magnetic Connection NANO Coating Sweatproof Sports Headset with Metallic Housing Built-in Mic (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_C6agBbQ9MD5HJ
Before you give up, I’d try these. They’re sweat resistant, have a great mechanism for staying in your ears (that doesn’t interfere with a helmet) and have a 7 hour battery. I bought pairs for my fiancé and mother after my success with an even cheaper pair (these are currently listed at $20 in the US).
I use Anker Soundbuds Slim from Amazon for like $25. I use them at work and in my shop. Since they're noise cancelling I don't always play music through them when i need them. They're a pretty comfortable fit, the battery life is decent and they stay together like a necklace when they're not in my ears. #1 thing is that they're cheap and still sound good.
ah man :/ anker has warranty that they would probably replace since they say it is sweatproof : https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Headphones-Lightweight-Connection-Sweatproof/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1524593862&sr=8-3&keywords=anker+soundbud+slim
I use the Wipex wipes on the bike, as I am unsure about wiping it down with something as harsh as clorox almost daily. They work great, evaporate quickly, and dont leave behind any scent. Make sure when you wipe, you get the underside as well. I've done a heavy clean from time to time and found crusted on dried sweat on the underside (mostly of the plastic part around the pedals....I blame my husband). No idea about a sweat catcher. Havent heard of that, but sweat gets everywhere so I figure just wipe it down.
I use pine-sol on the mat once a week or so.
I use the Scosche Rhythm+ instead of the chest HRM. Bluetooth headphones (Ive used Beats-2 pairs shorted out due to sweat, so I stopped replacing them, Bose-some of those dont all pair BTW) and some other brand, and I gave these Anker SoundBuds Slim a shot and they work beautifully. And they're only $26. I see there is a newer version now for 29, so if mine crap out Ill replace them. No issues at all with them.
Not to be devils advocate but Amazon has incredible Bluetooth earbuds for around 25 bucks. Sound exactly like Bose/Beats price level headphones, they just don’t carry the same brand panache. Here they are
Not a Black Friday sale, but I just ordered these Anker bluetooth earbuds a few weeks ago and they are exceptional for ~$25
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdo_D4X-zb7SF9B9Y
I use these. They're quite comfortable and the range is good. The sound isn't phenomenal but they're better than nothing on days when I don't want to talk to anyone at the gym.
> I just want to listen to music while cooking, I shouldn't need to carry a purse indoors to do that!
Get some of these. Then plug your phone in and you'll have a cooked meal, tunes, and a fully charged phone.
They can't compete with the price of normal headphone makers? That's also in Canadian dollars, so it's even more absurd that you would make that claim. That's a 4.4/5 rating on 431 customer reviews. Also, please explain what the difference is between "removing a feature" and "not a separate feature"?.
My analogy is perfectly relevant, you're just butthurt because people aren't agreeing with your post telling them how to spend their money based on your preferences. Why did you delete the original post, anyways?
thats not a dumb question at all! u/cas_sj has given you some good info, so ill keep my reply short.
I use the Scosche Rhythm+ HRM. Its an armband instead of a chest strap. I love it for the most part, but I find the sweatier I get the more it loses contact with the bike. Im not sure if its a sensor issue though, so I need to look into that. I wore that together with my chest strap HRM to compare readings and it was pretty spot on.
I use that mat everyone suggests on Amazon. I cannot BELIEVE its $98! I'd watch for a restock somewhere, or get another mat that has similar dimensions.
I have tried several pairs of earbuds. Heads up that Bose DO NOT WORK with the bike. I currently use the BeatsX, but the PowerBeats and PowerBeats3 also work. I also have this cheap pair that work perfectly. I had to send back my BeatsX for warranty replacement and got these while I waited. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hope this all helps!
Although they are a bit bulkier looking than the beatsX, at least if they break, you won't feel like you got ripped off. Anker has great customer support as well so there's some assurance

I bought a pair of these after my pair of Jaybirds walked away on their own and I've had a pretty good experience with them so far. If you're willing to spend more, then the Jaybirds are definitely excellent.
I just bought some Anker Soundbuds Slims. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6DC2ZE
They're fantastic, I'm VERY impressed with both the sound quality and connection strength (other Bluetooth headphones I've had are unreliable as hell).
As for removing/replacing apps, I think Moto does a good job of not putting bloatware on their phones. So most of the included apps are stock Android apps, which are pretty smooth and reliable. But to be fair, it's been a few years since I've owned a Moto (and they're owned by Lenovo now).
I'm not privy to those details.

I was looking at Anker because they're pretty cheap, and i just want something that won't fall out of my ears when I jump around and do other basketball activities.
I just bought a pair of these, and am very happy with them so far (though only used them less than a week)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N6DC2ZE
Have never had any problems with Anker's stuff
I love my Anker Soundbuds. Sound great and can't beat the price. From the research I did, these were the best cheap option
I had a pair from Anker that were $30 on Amazon. They also lasted a good 8 months and were great. Currently have a pair of Skull Candy that I got from Best Buy and they are ok, except for having a giant battery that sits mid chest. Actually the headphones are: Anker Bluetooth Headphones Amazon - 20£ . I got them in September 2017 and they are still working as new. Definitely deserves the price
The sound is as good as it was with the wired earbuds I paid CAD $50 I was using but they're earbuds so you cannot expect miracles of course. Still for Netflix on the bus and music while mowing the lawn I am 100% satisfied!
I bought those from Amazon Canada: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_hOMqiFmArKNaD
Looks like it is the same as this on Amazon.com ($25):
Good point, but they’re still available to order new on <strong>Amazon</strong>, so I’m not sure what’s up. It very well may have been a mistake.
i bought a $60 fake and realized that airpod pros don't fit my ears for shit. so I got off cheap. My next ones will be beats fit pros because they have an ear hook and the only set of earbuds that stayed in my ears had earhooks. ones like these https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Headphones-Lightweight-Connection-Sweatproof/dp/B01N6DC2ZE?th=1 In fact i bought these cumbersome aftermarket sleeves for airpods pros i think called "ear hooks" but they don't stay on well and i just lost one last week anyways.
Currently I use: ANKER soundbuds slim
Pros: hard to lose, good battery, direct volume control , hard around neck all day, and connection
Have tried the soundcore neo which are buggy
Is there a noticable difference between either of these? Worth double the price?
Currently I use: ANKER wireless

I really like the cheapos I ordered from amazon
Ankers with the little curved tab that keeps them in your ear. I use them for driving and gym time. The battery lasts longer than expected
I have these ones and they’re great https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SbusFbDKQ4CR4

cheap, good battery life, good sond
clip with a magnet around your neck, you its super useful in my opinion at airport and other public place where you keep removing them.
I just use a cheap earbud style headset from Amazon. Works awesome. It's always made it a full day on a charge.
These ones. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_v5LrFb5PHAS7A
I bought a decent pair of bluetooth headphones for work on amazon. They're actually pretty good too! https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_.dPvEbW024JN3
I've bought my husband 2 sets as one set ended up having a wash and dry. They're very good quality. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_4g7UXYtH8XUFv
However, I've found that because my ears are too small for the buds and I like the over the ear bit to hold them in place, these ones are very good too https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07VN81GMM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_p1vbEbMKZ37K0

Seconded on the Anker buds. I've been using their Soundbuds Slim for a few years now and like them; would probably give them a grade of B+. I've gone through a few pairs because of accidentally losing them, but since they are just $25, the hit isn't too bad.
I regularly commute and listen to podcasts while wearing one earbud in (the right one, because then the remote on the cable is more accessible) and keep the other tucked under my shirt. Haven't had an issue with my helmet or glasses, and I also use them while wearing a balaclava similar to this one in cold weather. I can still manipulate the buttons on the cable through the balaclava even though I'm wearing gloves, although it would probably be tough to have a phone conversation with the microphone through the balaclava.
I used to have them and they were great for casual use, but if OP is planning on doing any running at the gym, the control bit at one side weighs them down a bit and makes it awkward.
I prefer the Anker ones with the neckband on them. Currently I use either these Soundbuds Life (I got them before Amazon bumped them back up to £60), but the closest version similar I'd recommend are the Soundbuds Lite, or the NB10's are their specific sportswear model.
Like the AK-A3235011? How much were yours?
I have those, wireless and sweat-proof. For 30$CAD, you can't go wrong.
I run, bike, weightlift, handstand and cut grass with those, no ergonomic problem and they cut ambiant sound enough.
I personally recommend the $32 Anker ones from Amazon. Sound quality is great and they stay in your ears perfectly. Some of the best money I've ever spent.
I have these, they're pretty sweet

So I have 4 earbuds I have been looking at on amazon
My budget is 30$ and I want something with good sound quality that will last a long time and be extremely comfortable for long sessions. As someone who knows nothing about headphones I figured asking here was a good start. I also hate wires because the headphone gets tugged and misplaced by the wire getting yanked on so I have been looking at bluetooth headphones.
These are the ones I use.

Hey,
It's my first post here. I lost my Sennheiser m2 in ears and since then I'm looking for a new pair. Cables are actually not the most convenient thing to have while biking, working out or whatever, therefore I'm choosing between these earphones:
and
The price differences are there, and I'm okay to drop the money on 1more's, but I want other people opinions on my decision.
I do kickboxing/boxing, commute with the bike everywhere, so earphones would mainly be used outside of my home.
and do this with them, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abkuIBdRuEU
as for the awareness thing, you can put in earplugs, and blast music and still hear better than car drivers or other users, if you're cycling on a main road not using earplugs can cause serious hearing damage, but it might take adjustment if you're used to relying on hearing (which is a bad idea anyway, with electrics and hybrids everywhere now.)
Yeah I bought these and perfer them to my much more expensive JayBirds - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N6DC2ZE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got these for about $24. I don't like bulky ear buds and these are smaller than most. The trade-off is battery life otherwise I like them.

If you want a BT reciever the steambot mini is what i use to make my car have Bluetooth. Hope this helps
Why not use a headphones like below? We use the bike 7-8 times a week, this works really well, no lag, and won't bother anybody else in another room. The bike itself is silent, so with this you literally make no sound.
Probably going to get down voted, and told I'm a fucking idiot bla bla bla audiophiles gonna react because their $500 headphones and what not are supreme. But....
I buy cheap Anker (brand) Bluetooth Ear buds off Amazon because, if I lose them or someone steals them, then oh darn. I only use them at the gym or when I'm hung over and need to fetch my car. Soooo Sound quality isn't a real big deal for me.
I like my products to fill specific roles.
For a portable, wireless headset I went with Anker SoundBuds.
These aren't fancy, but I think they meet my needs at an unbeatable price.
