It makes so much sense that you'd get anxious around bedtime given that trauma! I'm really, really sorry. I have a whole nighttime routine I've constructed since I had a weird bout of unexplained insomnia - turn off screens, cup of tea, washing face/brushing teeth, constantly reading little bits of a book before going to sleep, etc. I don't mean to suggest all of that would magically fix that, but I wonder if even doing something small and kind for yourself like putting on fuzzy socks or drinking some hot cocoa or using one of those head scratcher things might help change your emotions around that time. I'm the furthest thing from a therapist, I'm just a big fan of being kind to yourself. :)

It's not something that I miss in the way that some others do but I find that sleeping with a body pillow helps with the cuddling thing. I also find myself touching myself gently in non-sexual ways (rubbing my own neck, rubbing my own feet). Before the pandemic, my best friend and I always made sure to hug each other when we saw each other.

I have heard these are really good. I love the sensation of someone brushing my hair or petting me and I've heard these simulate it.
