Yeah i had to look up moehler lol, i have never heard that term and i have lived and worked around marine stuff all my life (Ontario, Canada).

So i just looked at prices and sweet damn they have went up. So its not as enticing aside from availability. Most marine tanks i have used are all 3/8" line, that said you can get a barb adapter to use like the following

My 5K unit came with the 10L flat tank, and while it worked just fine i want more capacity as well. My only concern was using the dosing pump as a lift pump as well and fighting the air in the line issues. My 10l tank is above the pump and only picks up air if i fill the tank while its quite low and the heater is running.

I looked at swapping to a 12 Gallon(45 Liter) tank Here i have not verified but it should be a 1/4" NPT thread on the outlet allowing me to use a This and plumb directly to the filter then pump. My intent was not to have it removeable though just to have the capacity to hold an entire 5gal can without question or worry. That 12G tank would give me over 4 days running at full snort.

Just thinking about it you might be able to find a filter that is 3/8 in and 3/16 out.

I put a little over 360 Liters through my 5K last winter and learned a few things (used in my shop):

1- The fuel i was getting was fairly clean i'd guess i could put 1500-2000 Liters though before i'd have to worry about that filter but its clear and a simple look to check.

2- Extended running at low heat settings will coke up the guts and a 1/2hr high burn before shutdown wasn't always enough to ensure a good start. I just pulled stripped it and soaked it in oven cleaner on a heater pad to keep it warm. Took about 12 hours to get to a point i was happy with, the main chamber is simple the little swirl burn at the end where the fuel is added is much harder to clean.

3- I should of bought 2 smaller heater2 for the task, While more complex to set up initially dual 2k or a 2K and 5K would ob been better suited to my use as i could of just run the 2k full snort all the time and used the second heater as a filler. 2k would of kept the temp above freezing find and the second could of made it warmer when needed.

4- when ordering parts make sure they match lol, i miss ordered 2k parts for my 5k. gaskets were wrong but the screens and glow fit fine. Luckily i didn't need gaskets mine were fine.
