I’m actually holding up pretty well.
If you’ve got callouses/feet are raw you might not be wearing the correct size boots/shoes...I wear work boots every day and don’t have this issue, so definitely make sure your fit is correct.
What kind of underwear are you wearing? I actually don’t think I’ve had a rash at all this summer either, lol. I only wear boxer briefs when I’m at work.
I’d recommend you use this stuff right here on your raw ass. My wife is a nurse and said they use this shit at the hospital all the time and it works like a charm...she said make sure you get something with zinc oxide.
How long have you been driving?
Badger foot balm, Joshua Tree Hiker Salve (great but twice as expensive and not twice as good but if it is what you can find also any of the Joshua Tree salves should work and all suffer from the economic issue), I have yet to try it but have heard some good reports about the greengoo first aid ordered a tin to try. All of these I used/intend to use mainly on my feet to help keep them moisturized and reduce them getting quite so waterlogged and help prevent trench foot.
For chaffing Boudreaux's Butt Paste brought a small lightsmith containers worth and got a little snack sized ziplock with a corner full shipped to me in a resupply to refill along the trail at one point.
Boudreauxs butt paste
This is the stuff he’s talking about, make sure to get the maximum strength it lasts longer. It will be in a red tube vs the regular stuff that is in a yellow tube.
Edit: just noticed he added a link as well but a second one never hurts
I remember when I learned butt paste was the name of this product, not a description of it
I swear by this butt paste and when that doesn't work a 10 minute soak in a warm bath with like a teaspoon of baking soda works wonders!
This looks a lot like perioral dermatitis! I have struggled with it for years. It’s a somewhat misunderstood condition where you get pimple like bumps around your mouth area and it can flare up for a variety of reasons.
Things that can cause a flare up:
- fluoride (in toothpaste)
- steroid creams (at first makes it better but then makes it much worse)
- really hot water
What helped me finally get it under control was two things:
The first was switching to a fluoride free toothpaste. I use Dr. Sheffield’s which you can buy at CVS.
The second thing I did was start using a zinc cream at night on the affected area. I use Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. It looks silly when you put it on since it is opaque white but even after one use I see improvement.
Once I got it under control I was able to start using fluoride toothpaste again and I only use those products when I notice a flare up happening again. Good luck!
I love this tutorial on diaper changing: [link]
Also heres a playlist of her other stuff just in case you like her tutorials: [link]
I would recommend keeping some butt paste on hand for diaper rashes:
Also I would recommend a spare onesie and gripe water in the diaper bag. And maybe baby tylenol. Also if they have hair, a baby brush or comb so they can always look dapper :)
2: This is misinformation
Honestly, this is going to sound crazy, but try a zinc oxide based diaper rash cream like Boudreaux's Butt Pastelink
apply directly to forehead
