For what you're talking about I'd get a $100 surprise pack here: http://smallbatchcigar.com/smallbatchmixes-c-131.html (you'll get 10 excellent cigars).
For storage, you need constant humidity. A plastic container with a good seal isn't fancy but is best because it holds humidity better than a wood humidor. I'd get this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YHT1UFY/ - it will be the right size for the cigars and comes with humidity packs. If the humidity packs come in plastic bags, take them out, and then insert them under the perforated false bottom of the box (see photos on the Amazon page), then unpack the cigars, keep them in the box and keep it closed. The humidifiers are good until they no longer feel soft - they should last a year or more. This is more expensive than my usual solution, which is Boveda humidity packs in a Tupperware container, but looks nicer and makes a better gift.
