I have a 2010 328i with iDrive as well but both my Bluetooth and USB do not function for audio on my iPhone. I can only get BT phone to work but audio does not appear for me.

Had to buy the Bovee Wireless Bluetooth adapter. Works really well for the most part! Will display accurate music details on screen and works with OEM controls on iDrive/Steering wheel. Only annoying thing is it sometimes will turn track repeat on my device so I have to turn off repeat manually. Other than that, it connects quickly to your phone and audio quality is as good as AUX.

Lots of people like the Tunai Firefly or something similar for this purpose. If you want to attempt something that will maybe work with steering wheel controls and maybe display track info, you may look into something like this Bovee unit.

It tricks the mini into thinking the iPod connection into just playing your phones Bluetooth. If I still can find mine I'd sell it to you if you want. I replaced my stereo in the end so now don't need it.

This works with the same interface BMW uses for the ipod integration, but instead does bluetooth. It even lets you browse your phones's music library on the idrive.

If this is compatible with your car, get it. I bought for my 2014 f30 and it's a darn near perfect solution to the Bluetooth streaming problem.

You need this! Worked great on my pre-lci E90.

No song names with android, but all steering wheel controls work. I just used tasker to automatically open up spotify and hit play when it sensed the cars bluetooth connection.

I have a 2011 135i with iDrive but without Bluetooth audio streaming. I bought this and it connects to the aux and USB in my center console. It works flawlessly for what I have.

It's a bit pricy, but I just got the Bovee Y connector for my 2013 R56S. Should give you steering skip control and supposedly track info on an iPhone- mines an Android.
