I consider my American Locks pwned. I can even open my 10-month arch-nemesis of lock on a regular basis (link).
That's a practical opinion though. There are so many different lock types out there, so there's no reason not to branch out. My googlefu seems to not be working well right now, did you mean the 172?

Brinks Max Security Padlock is not a bad choice.
It has a 6 pin core which is an American Lock clone, and has a shrouded shackle.
Also,
Commando Padlock is a great padlock and you need to pick it twice to open.
As u/musamban said, most locks don't get picked they are broken into physically.
