I highly suggest following this book: Building Virtual Machine Labs: A... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09GXD7QL8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
If you search out the author I think he has a 'pay what you choose' option through another site if budget is a concern.
I started my virtual lab using a book by a guy on twitter. I used version one and he goes step-by-step through each of the main "bare metal" (installed directly on the hardware instead of windows) and "hosted" (installed in the OS) hypervisors. He's got version two up now in ebook: https://leanpub.com/avatar2 or in print: https://www.amazon.com/Building-Virtual-Machine-Labs-Hands/dp/B09GXD7QL8/
I'd recommend the print version to support the guy, but he has the leanpub ebook available for Pay-what-you-want (even free) depending on your budget, specifically to get more people into the industry.
