There are ice remover tools(http://www.amazon.com/Bully-Tools-92200-Sidewalk-Chopper/dp/B000PAQEKU )(I forgot how to hyperlink...), they're basically a hoe without the angle and a much heavier blade. The thin blade of a shovel tries to cut the ice, the fat heavy blade does some cutting but mostly just bludgeons and shatters the ice and the weight means its more just dropping it than trying to slam it into the ground
I have one of those and I'd recommend complementing it with an ice scraper because of the plastic bucket. You can hit ice layer straight down to cut it in "tiles", then scrape it or pick it up with the shovel.
You can buy them at stores too. There are even a few on Amazon.
Clearly lying. Or just left inches of ice.
Bullshit you never used one of these
An ice chopper to deal with the packed snow and ice in front of the door. Also useful to chip out a path for water to run off the driveway in the spring. https://www.amazon.com/Bully-Tools-92200-Sidewalk-Scraper/dp/B000PAQEKU
Get one of these to scrap away the ice and snow that gets packed down on your driveway/sidewalk.
