When I first started playing again after several years, I tried the velcro ones and these. The ones I linked were much more comfortable for me and prevented further issues. I don't use either after lacing my skates properly. Try them both and see what works for you!
I haven't used them, but I know some people swear by the Bunga Lace Bite sleeves/pads.

I used a few different solutions, the velcro gel inserts that stick to the tongue, bunga pads, and lacing my skates over-under.
The velcro pads weren't comfortable for me personally. I used the bunga pads for several weeks while breaking in some new skates and waiting for my lacebite to recover. Eventually I relaced my skates to remove the friction on my tendon, and stopped using the bunga pads altogether at some point.
