Re: running hot, power consumption, etc
I've been using the non-Bluetooth version for a few months and have just been turning down the volume all the way down then unplugging them. Is there any downside to just buying something like on/off ac outlet and turning off the speakers when I'm not using them?
I wouldn't disconnect it, you can just turn the power off and then hang it. You can get a power switch like this one : https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Grounded-Outlet-Switch/dp/B07QKPBZX1/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=Power+Switches&qid=1606837951&sr=8-6 and then you can just turn it on or off.
This will also reduce wear and tear on the connections and device.
Easiest option here would be to have something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Cable-Matters-Grounded-Outlet-Switch/dp/B07QKPBZX1/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=electric+outlet+protector+with+on+off+switch&qid=1603898918&sr=8-3
I even have a thing like that with a remote for the block heater on my car. I can plug the car the evening before and then turn it on something like an hour before needing the car during those coldest weeks of winter. (I don't use it to commute otherwise I'd use a timer instead)
I have the lions3 case and can confirm it's good.
For power, I use one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QKPBZX1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_s1NbGbN1Z1WGH
It's a single outlet power switch.
I have it on the end of a very short extension like this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H9LPFDB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_62NbGbX9G0D30
I actually have it on a 4 way splitter with superguns on all the extensions, but what I linked is more to your needs (I think).
Not to nit pick but the name of the board is MV1C. =)
I've ordered 2 MV1C enclosures and 2 Capcom CPS-1 short enclosures from lions3. He even modified the CPS-1 enclosure based on my feedback. It doesn't make me his best friend, but I have experience with him. He's a good dude.
If you want to pay the cost up front, I will order the lions3 MV1C enclosure/case for you and ship it to you.
I know an internet stranger's word is not worth much, but I don't need the $60ish and I wouldn't screw you. Just trying to help get you rolling.
The neo geo and arcade community in general have been extremely helpful to me and I just want to pay back a little where I can.
If you are interested, send me a message.
You could use something like this:
https://smile.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Grounded-Outlet-Switch/dp/B07QKPBZX1/
No need to cut any wires that way.
Get something like this if it doesn't have it's own power switch: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Grounded-Outlet-Switch/dp/B07QKPBZX1/
These work for killing power:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QKPBZX1/
Start, Quit, Shutdown
Wait 5 seconds and flip some kind of power switch.

or something similar

or something similar
I ordered a switch replacement, and whilr I was at it I got these

to add to my power strip.
