This Cap Mega Trap Bar was my first trap bar. Rackable, 1,000 pound capacity, decent knurl. Used it for years. Recently acquired the Prime Fitness open trap bar, and wouldn't trade it for any other trap bar, and I've used most.
The Cap Mega Hex bar would fit the bill- this was my starter trap bar many moons ago. 1k max capacity, 75# weight, decent welds and knurl.. I have plenty of Titan items, but I'd pick the Cap over the Titan any day since I've used both.
About to pull the trigger on the CAP hex bar. It looks like there are two versions, one that weights 50 lbs and one that weights 75 lbs and is a bit longer. I'm leaning towards the 75 lb one for the longer sleeves. Does anyone know if this is rackable? My main use is deadlifts (prior back surgery) but it'd be cool to use it for bench and OHP too.
I've been looking at hex/trap bars for a couple weeks and budget has me on the lower end, under 200. I wanted the $130 Titan v1 hex/trap bar, but that's OOS till April, and the Titan v2 rackable one is out of my budget. More research in homegym via redditsearch.io led me to the 75 lb Cap Mega hex/trap bar on Amazon ($169) here, but couldn't quite pull the trigger, not feeling great about Cap or the price.
But then I saw Amazon Warehouse had the same bar (Chrome finish) listed as "Used - Very Good" and only indicated minor package damage, for $83 shipped free. It stuck around there on the Amazon listing for a few days before I finally said okay and clicked the buy button. But now I'm second guessing it, wondering why nobody else would buy it, and what kind of monster they are going to send me. Anyone had experience with this kind of stuff from Amazon Warehouse deals, or this Cap Mega hex bar?
