That's definitely some random cheapo "Olympic" bar w/ 2" sleeves.
"Olympic" meaning derived from the style of barbell first developed for the sport of Olympic weightlifting, where the barbell's sleeves need to rotate freely around the bar shaft. This is versus the old old timey fixed primitive barbells where it was really just a block/glob fixed to the ends of a bar and it didn't spin at all. So really "Olympic" is really just all about the sleeves. You can get really granular with it talking about the kind of rotation mechanisms, what those are made of, etc. but the jist is that if the sleeves spin like yours, it's an Olympic style bar.
You can compare that with some really cheap bars that don't have sleeves, like this. Those aren't Olympic in any sense.
My dad saw me building out a home gym and gave me a 6 foot barbell that takes 1” standard plates. Diameter is 25mm and it’s about 15 lbs. Very similar to this. I have a sleeve/adapter I can put on it that allows me to use olympic plates.
Would this be good enough to use as a beater bar for landmine exercises? Would likely use a tennis ball as the landmine and tuck it in a corner for now.
I’m over budget so I’m not trying to spend more money on a beater bar, but I don’t want to use my power bar for landmine exercises if I don’t have to.
