This works great for me. Slides forward and backwards to get stuff underneath it.
These also come as a kit with an organizer for the back center console cubby.

When I got my first plug-in hybrid I forgot to plug it in all them time. I printed a sign and stuck it on the garage door that goes into the house and it helped a lot.
For the sunglasses just get one of the many gray inserts for the center console available on Amazon. You can stick your glasses in there for easy access.
