Renter's rights - at the same time, as a tenant, you have rights. There are Federal laws that protect renters. And there are state laws that protect renters. It is always a good idea to search for (your state) tenant rights. Do this before moving in.
9) Finding a job
This is probably the hardest thing you can do in today's economy. However the advice for first (or second) time job hunting hasn't changed much in a long time. Here is a good place to start with job hunting advice.
Okay, that's as far as I'm going to go in this checklist. At this point, you have enough broad information to get started on being out on your own. If you are under the age of 18, this is going to be very difficult, but not impossible. If you are over the age of 18 you will find things get a lot easier. (But beware if you live in a state where the minimum age is older! Even 21!)
You still have a lot to know. How to get a phone, how to budget, how to cook. Luckily you are in a subreddit where these things are being discussed. Ask questions if you need something more.
And if you need more details to any of my posts here, please let me know.
