Can snag a Casio on amazing for like 12 bucks and they last forever. Even if it lasts you a year it’s a cheap easily replaceable watch. My go to surf watch.

Self-winding mechanical watches need regular maintenance by a professional to keep time accurately. Quartz beats mechanical for all practical purposes besides fashion.

PC parts actually have measurably better performance when you spend more. A radio-synchronized digital watch is vastly more accurate than any mechanical watch ever could be, and they're cheaper, with minimal maintenance requirements.

I have another model that looks similar. It's been I think six or more years since I bought it. Tough as hell, only changed the bands once, and the original battery is still inside it.

It's a $5 Casio watch that is/was sold at the shoppettes and hasn't changed design in 30+ years. Somebody posted a BMT video from the 80's recently and I saw a few of those watches in it.

Both the metal and the plastic versions of F-91W (and A159W) are very cheap at around $20 and are very tough and cheap to replace even if you somehow manage to break one.

The GOAT. $13. You cannot find a better watch for under $20.
They're both CASIO watches you can get for cheap. He's saying he prefers the F91W, because it is very inexpensive, but also light, thin and wearable compared to other watches, like the CASIO A158, which is a bit heavier and thicker.

The Casio F91W - about ~$10 is still a firm favourite with watch enthusiasts and has been around for years. Light and accurate.
For the greater part of last and this year, the Casio G-shock GA 2100, was extremely popular and was constantly sold out, particularly the black and grey one or the completely black (stealth) model. On Amazon the price went from ~$69.00 to the current ~$207.00. The red version is still cheaper at ~$129.00
IIRC Bill Gates also wears Casio Sports watch.
I actually found a fake Casio F91w-1 selling for the same price (INR 895), on Amazon.in (Amazon India). The comments will tell you that it's the genuine version, but you can check the image, compare it with the one on Casio's Website and do a bit of research, to get to know the reality - (from the small "u" under the word "RESIST", which is found in the fake F91w-1 versions only, and the images of the Product are different than the ones in Casio's Website).

You could buy a handful of cheap aliexpress watches and rotate as needed, or do the same thing with Casio watches.
Depending on how slim your wrists are, you could consider a G-Shock (maybe something from the Baby-G range).

Bad choice. $5 watch ain’t gonna last you more than a few years. Splurge and get the $10 watch. It lasts decades (after replacing the battery 7ish years in).
