It's not the initial style you were thinking about, but just for some variety, the Casio edifice series is pretty well received around here, and they have a good quality chronograph on sale currently for $39.99. If you like how it looks, you can't go wrong. With a leather band this thing is very pleasing to the eye.
i have the casio edifice and i love it. the case is the same size as the mako, but it lays on the wrist very well and doesn't look too big. the mako looks very bulky on my wrist. the casio has solid links too if you're into bracelets. aside from the casio, i would stay under 41mm tho. my wrists are 6.5".
It's the EF 503. I think its actually a really cheap one ([link]). I got it for $10 on ebay though after a few weeks hunting.
ebay protip for these: casios are super not a popular watch it seems, so focus on searching for 'casio chronograph'. You're bound to come across somebody selling one model-less.
I recently got into the watch hobby (a year or so now). I ended up buying way too many watches and am now looking to downsize my collection, so take advantage of my impulse buys! Also, looking for a Seiko Cocktail Time or Orient Ray/Mako with blue dials, so message me for a trade or sale.

I don’t have the extra links for this one so it is sized for about a 6.5 inch wrist. I will sell without the strap for $10 less, so if you have extra straps around this would be a great deal! The watch itself is in great condition, just normal wear, however one of the links is pretty dinged up. It was my first watch and I didn’t do too well taking some links out.
Great watch, just looking to upgrade/consolidate. I replaced the black strap with a brown/tan/orange strap that I just got from a user on here when I bought a Rodina.
Listing this one as cheap. It is in amazing condition as I barely wore it. However, there is literally like a white piece of hair in the dial, shown in pictures. It may be easy to get it out? I usually just shake it out of the way when I wear the watch.

Bought this one here on the watchexchange for $80 a few months ago. Awesome watch, again just looking to downsize the collection.
All prices INCLUDE shipping within the CONUS. Let me know if you have any other questions. NOTE: Will be out all day, so will ship out on Monday.
Shit man I may have found it
I know you said automatic - but here's a quartz that might have the look you're going for @ well below $500:
Casio Men's EF503D-1AV "Edifice" Stainless Steel Watch [link]
Has this been on sale recently? It used to go for like $45 but I missed those sales.
Start by checking out the r/watches buying guide for watches under $250. There are a lot of good recommendations in there. The Casio MDV106 can be had for less than $70 (and often goes on sale for less than $50) and it does a good job of giving a Rolex Submariner-ish look without being a straight-up copy. You mentioned that you like the look of the Omega Speedmaster, so take a look at the Casio EF503D for a similar look and much lower price. If you're looking for a mechanical, there are lots of good options listen in the buying guide, like the Seiko SKX007, which shares some visual similarities to the Rolex Sub, but very much has it's own distinct design as well.
Opinions on this Crown and Buckle Strap vs this Etsy Horween strap. It'd sit on a Casio EF503D-1AV "Edifice". I can't figure out which would match the watch better, and I concerns on the longevity of the lined C&B strap.
Is this the watch you mentioned as being completely silent?
That is a Casio. I thought eco-drive was a Citizen watch feature?
Casio Edifice EF503D-1AV
How do I remove the bracelet on my Casio edifice EF503D? I see pictures of it on leather or NATO straps here all the time, but I can't for the life of me find a way to get the springbar out.
The Edifice has always looked similar to me. Comes in white too. amazon.com/dp/B003URWNOG
I'm looking for a nice watch, I really like these two: (I understand they are very different, and use these as reference points not specific models)
I would like a single watch I can trade out the bands between steel and leather. One that would look good with either type of band, does it matter or can I go with either style?
For Style 1 maybe consider Casio Edifice like this or this.
For Style 2, I haven't seen too many field watches with a PVD case (most I've seen have had stainless steel or brushed steel finishes), but maybe this Citizen?
This Casio is very Speedmasterish. Seiko used to make a few that were even closer, but unfortunately don't anymore.
here's the black version of the Casio Speedmaster you posted
Take a look at some of the Casio Edifice models, I picked one up a while ago for $70 and feel like it was a great value. Here are a couple from Amazon:
I cant decide between your watch, the black version, or the casio diver. I am basically just looking for an affordable watch I would wear everyday. I want to be able to not worry about breaking it (considering I am a high school student), and would probably put on a leather, or multicolored nato band.
What do you think I should get?
My budget is $100 (I have a $100 amazon giftcard)

also for OP, in similar style to the previous linked seiko,
