I use Microcrystalline Wax , also known as Victory Brown for tapping. It's better than paraffin wax for tapping and cutting aluminum. It's softer it sticks in the flutes and carries out the chips. Just spin the tap in the wax before each hole.
I just tapped 50 3mm x .8, 12mm deep holes in aluminum using a cordless drill without a breaking the tap.
I have this weird wax because I dated a sculptor and she left me a couple pounds of it about a decade ago and I figured why not try it instead of buying that Castrol stuff I used at my last job.
