This is depressing. Counterfeits on Amazon are so ridiculously out of control. It's gotten to the point where it's even worse than eBay. At least with eBay, it's easy to contact a seller and ask for additional photos and check yourself to see if what you're getting is legit. With Amazon you'll just get ignored or the seller will tell you the item is in Amazon's warehouse, even if the item isn't FBA.
I've been reporting obvious counterfeit listings (such as fake collectibles and fake/hacked video game carts) and Amazon does nothing. There's also this gem I found a year ago:
https://www.amazon.com/Catnip-ORGANIC-NON-GMO-PowerGrow-Systems/dp/B00FT9ZQCE
It's a listing for catnip seeds. All the Chinese/Singaporean sellers are sending random seeds like nightshade and wheatgrass. Wheatgrass is incredibly cheap to produce/sell and nightshade is actually toxic and will probably kill a cat if it's eaten by one. It looks like there's one legit seller for the listing (the original seller?) but no one else is legit. When I originally found the listing last year, there were something like 30 different sellers, all from newly launched Chinese accounts with no feedback.
The fact that this listing is still up shows that Amazon doesn't care at all. I actually felt a little sad typing that because I used to love Amazon as a company.
