>That sounds really quick. Though I can try to achieve it. > >I'm not really good at interviewing though. Just another skill I need to learn.
I was just throwing out a somewhat aggressive, yet realistic timeframe, though it really depends on how much time you can devote outside of work, which is another part of security work. If you're not spending several hours per week outside of work reading news and studying the latest attacks or certing up, you are falling behind.
If you have 6 hours a week you can put into reading the cert guide, watching YouTube videos in more depth and then playing around in a lab or Wargames then it's a very realistic goal I believe. Consider scheduling the 1st of the 2 exams around March 1st
Here is the official cert guide for the first test

Not dumb. I learned something new today and will probably start this cert after I finish Sec+. Honestly it is about time Cisco had an answer to Sec+ but I doubt DoD would ever accept it for clearance.
Looks like Pearson will offer exams in a few weeks. I can't find any books, though
Edit: Okay, looking into it, we are SOL. The cert currently requires a training course, which is full until 2018. Bummer!
Edit 2: Okay, so Lamlee and Cisco Press are releasing books soon. CP after their training course in March. Lamlee is working on it, given his Firepower book is finished. The training course is like a free bootcamp but doesn't look like it is required. The information is very disorganized...Good ol' Cisco!
