It gives you kid of a lube to allow the chamois to move around easily without chaffing.
Powder is working against you. Helps with dryness. But no slipping so you chafe, chamois is probably binding up putting more pressure on your taint.
I've just recently started using Chamois Butt'r 2 years ago. I wish I started many years ago using it.

OOH. You ever use chamois butter? You basically use it to grease up your taint/nipples/whatever might chafe for running/biking/paddling etc. There are quite a few creams that work like this, butt this one is one of my favorites. It's a game changer!
Here's a cheap thing that can help - Chamois Butt'r. Lowering the friction helps your body easy into the most comfortable position. I think it adds comfort no matter what the saddle situation is. Also, just building up tolerance is important.
This is not a cheap answer, but a good bike fit will sort this out for you. When I did my bike fit I had a high quality Fizik saddle that came with my bike from the factory. I knew I wasn't comfortable, was getting numbness, but I would have been wrong about what to do about it in terms of saddle changes. They had a sensor pad they put on the saddle. It finds my sit bones, then they had a bunch saddles of various shapes and sizes, and they just sold me one that matched my sit bones. It took a while to get used to it, but now it's great and I feel like I could ride forever. I would have thought I needed a narrower saddle and I actually needed a wider one.
Make sure everything is adjusted correctly on your bike/kit. Small pains on shorter rides become bigger problems on long rides. Foot, hand and saddle pain are things to pay close attention to.
Also, Crotch lube
Wow...way to ruin my day with that reality check on the Sawatch. I fixed that. The price I pay to sleep toasty warm...
Your tips are great! I remeasured my foster can and it came out to 1.6oz so I'm good there.
I'm definitely eyeing the Nitecore and litesmith knives.
I guess I'll have to make a call on my chair. Yes it's comfy and actually helps a lot to maintain a clean camp especially in dusty/muddy places.
Definitely look at this. I used it when I started bike touring but it works well for running/hiking as well. Doesn't sweat off easily. I haven't used it on a multiday trek yet but for long distance day hikes its worked well.
Posted in another thread but: https://www.amazon.com/Chamois-Buttr-Original-Anti-Chafe-Cream/dp/B000HZGTUS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1521737486&sr=8-1&keywords=chamois+buttr
What sold us was an REI review that simply read "keeps yo taint slick". The review was accurate.
I use Chamois Butter it is marketed for bicycle shorts but it is a fairly thick, long lasting cream that prevents chafing.
I think there is a ladies version too but I don't know the difference or if that applies to you.
I like this stuff. Last almost all day. Washes off nice.
Chamois Butt'r Original 8oz tube https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HZGTUS/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_.qAVwbBEK85BA
Body glide was so waxy. Lasted a long time but after a while it absorbed into my boxer briefs and doesn't wash out.
If you are talking about chaffing and basically friction burns. There are a lot of things you can buy out there that cyclists use. Like http://www.amazon.com/Chamois-Buttr-Original-8oz-tube/dp/B000HZGTUS
However, the much cheaper alternative is vaseline.
Gross as it may be, grease the parts that rub. That will solve your problem.
Chamois Butt'r is pretty awesome too, and doesn't come in 'deodorant stick' form, so it can be a little easier to apply and will stay on longer because you can get more on there.
When I do long runs I need to use this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HZGTUS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_E2RP1Z8NASGWSRV0T28J
Not to be gross, but it’s the combination of hair, sweat, clammy skin and the result is chaffing. Buy Butt’r…I use it for running (mostly), biking and hiking.

Reminds me of the Chamois Butt'r that I use when I go for really long bike rides.
Don't think Seville will help in that case though.
Cheers
Proper bike fit first. Second: I use chamois Butt’r & I know women who’ve had success with it also. Def. helps for longer rides.
Chamois butter? Road bikers use it to avoid grundle chafing. Never had enough of an issue to try it when I was rowing but it might be worth a shot.
https://www.amazon.com/Chamois-Buttr-Original-Anti-Chafe-Cream/dp/B000HZGTUS?ref_=ast_sto_dp It lasts forever, its amazing a literally quality of life changer for big guys.
Bike Shorts with a Shammy and a tube of Chamious Cream. Properly adjusted seat and just getting used to it again.
that will be a VERY large quality of life improvement.
Speed will come but what i started out doing and do now is i'll do what are refered to as Intervals (Fast riding for a set time) Slow riding for a set time. I do intervals through the week as not a lot of time but on Saturday I do a nice long 30+ mile ride and try to average 12 to 14 mph (started as try to maintain a 10 mph average). Sunday and Wednesday are my rest days, although i've recently started riding on Wednesday nights just for a short jaunt around town.
You said it's sit-bones but also kind of sounds like saddle sores. You're right at the right distance for saddle sore irritation to start, so might be worth a shot.
Grab some of this, really goop it on anything at all that touches the saddle at any point. This is the full taint area and where you get the sit bone pain as well. See if it all magically goes away.
Worse comes to worst, you should do this anyhow. It's good to prevent saddle sores.
