For overall life philosophy I recommend "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle.
For simple, practical, exercises to heal insecurities & unhealthy beliefs this book is my favorite.
Also, Abraham Hicks has quite a few books on Amazon (I prefer listening on youtube).

This is an amazing self-help book for getting over procrastination. To give you a heads up, the true cause is not what you think. It's not about taking lots of external action, but about addressing the internals - beliefs / insecurities etc - underlying the lack of motivation. This book shows you how.

I have been where you are! Through therapy what I found was that below all anger, is pain. When you lose your temper over the little things, some pain trigger is being activated (even if it's subconscious). Heal the pain & the anger drops away. Consider it a gift that you're starting from 0. I really believe true self-empowerment means being fully responsible for our own happiness, fulfillment & enrichment in life. I also believe that how we are feeling about ourselves (including our often subconscious insecurities & belief systems) determines a lot about the type of people and experiences we attract into our lives. This book is amazing because it's a work book with daily exercises. There's bits of theory in the weekend homework (about self-love / self-empowerment / etc) but mostly it's a practical how-to book which I love.
On the question of when to leave or stay, the answer is healthy boundaries & this self-help book is the best I've come across for understanding our boundaries.. The author also talks about grief being a form of love, so it might also help with your "how to deal with death" question.
ahaha! I'd start with this book which is easy to follow, daily exercises all geared toward genuine self-love (I find a lot of self-help to be very theoretical, while I prefer the more practical stuff).

I used to be like this as well. Something about conflict totally triggered my "fight or flight" instinct & I'd be shaking like a leaf & unable to speak. This book showed me how to make long term changes in my self-esteem. I hope it helps you as much as it did me. Good luck!

Got it. I'd suggest dropping the word control & using mastery instead. I'm not arguing semantics but words have great power. You want mastery over your sexual desires (yes?). There's two aspects of this: your "outer-world" and your "inner-world". The outer world is the physical / external; you want to put that sexual energy into something else. Sexual energy is creative energy, so something creative is the best fit. Another powerful way to practice mastery in the external is to take up martial arts. Your inner world is your feelings / beliefs / insecurities about this sexual energy. This is a great book for mastery of our inner world. And one last thing: I wouldn't try to stop masturbating completely as the release is very healthy, particularly for your age.
Seeking others validation is normal when we're younger. Part of growing up is, as you guessed, authentically loving yourself irrespective of others. Easier said than done. Here is a great journal with daily exercises that teach authentic, unconditional, self-love. Highly recommend.

I agree with all the other suggestions, however you also have to look at your relationship with yourself. You can take all the "external" action (as in all the other suggestions) but you also have address you own insecurities & unhealthy beliefs. This is an amazing book that focuses on healing & transforming our "internal" relationship with ourselves.
OK. This book is a journal of daily exercises that teach Emotional Mastery. The author is a zoologist not a psychologist & is quite spiritual, so the work is very different from the other suggestions here. If you're hoping to understand and then change feelings / behaviour, it's one of the best books I know.
As has been said in other posts, below apathy / not caring is usually some sort of pain / anxiety. Heal that & your relationship with life will change. This is an amazing book for healing deep wounds.
