I think the best way to avoid getting the feeling of people's lives being dull is to not focus too much on their lives.
You seem like me, able to see the bigger picture of things, able to see how society is etc etc, and it's bullshit. Sometimes sensing what a person is like does bother me as most people are conceited (they have very high false egos, usually misplaced)
Don't let it get you down though, first and foremost you have to focus on yourself. The main key is perception. Someone recently told me about a book so I ordered it (hasn't arrived yet but seems good), it's called "Change Your Thoughts, Change your Life" http://www.amazon.co.uk/Change-Your-Thoughts-Life-Living/dp/1401915361/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1424904864&sr=1-1&keywords=change+your+thoughts+change+your+life
Maybe it'll help.
Don't worry about finding things uninteresting. Over here most people enjoy football, but I personally cannot stand it (I find it boring and think they get paid way too much). Your interests are what make you unique, and there is only one you so enjoy what you do, and reach your goals!
