Genius! Why didn’t I think of this! I bought this for my long hair German Shepherd dog - and it’s always cool to the touch and padded! Getting one for me! Hope posting a link is ok https://www.amazon.com/Hugs-Pet-Products-Pressure-Activated/dp/B007JT4P88
We had one of these for our pets in Florida and the cat was indifferent, but the dog loved it: Chillz Cooling Mat For Dogs - Pressure Activated Gel Dog Cooling Mat - No Need to Freeze Or Refrigerate This Cool Pet Pad - Keep Your Pet Cool, Use Indoors, Outdoors or in the Car https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B007JT4P88/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_VDG947SPEMT303FRC0R1
This is the secret sauce for me. Yes, I realize it's a kennel mat for a dog.
I also use a buckwheat hull pillow. It retains some heat, but nothing like a regular pillow.
Crisp percale sheets - anything that clings to your skin is going to be hotter. I love my sheets from Thomas Lee, and another set from Sferra Bros.
Pajamas of crisp cotton - woven, not knit. I have some that are seersucker.
Ceiling fan AND window AC in the bedroom.
You can try keeping a large bowl of ice in front of the fan. This way, when the fan blows, it will blow cool air due to the ice being there. You would have to replace the ice as it melts, or instead keep it in a cooler with the lid open.
Another option would be to take a small towel and soak it in icy cold water. Then wring out the excess water and put it on top of the fan. This also helps to blow cool air. Just be careful that the towel is not able to get caught into the fan because that can be a safety/fire hazard.
Another thing I would suggest is to turn the AC on 1-2 hours before sleeping, but keep your bedroom door closed and all the A/C vents in your room open. This will help to contain the cool air within your room.
Black out curtains can also help prevent your room from heating up too much since they will deflect the sun.
Also, if you do not already, keep your dog's crate door open. The plastic base of the crate may be cool initially, but after laying on it even for 1 hour, it will become hot. If you have to keep him in the crate because you're afraid he will mess up your carpets, see if you can let him sleep elsewhere in your home where its not carpeted (ex: kitchen/bathroom). The tiles from the kitchen or bathroom will be cool, and help cool down your dog.
Lastly, as others have mentioned, a cooling pad might be a good option. You can keep it inside his crate or lay it on top of his bed or the floor. This one is highly rated on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Hugs-Pet-Products-Pressure-Activated/dp/B007JT4P88/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=dog+cooling+mat&qid=1561014540&s=gateway&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1
If you wear a wicking undershirt (like underarmour) it should help to keep you cooler over all. Use a desk fan if you get a desk. Use a cooling pad. This one is designed for pets but will work for humans as well. I also get really hot, and I have one of these and will put it on my couch behind me and it keeps me cool. It doesn't require water or refrigeration and will keep you cool for a few hours at a time, then if you just remove it it recharges. If you got two you could rotate them and have one in your chair all the time. Also, I work in a health care environment and have a small usb/battery powered fan that I carry around with me everywhere, just blowing on my face. It keeps my face from sweating.

I have the chillz cooling mat and akc cooling mat. Neither are perfect but my dog loves cooling mats and enjoys both.
I got the chillz cooling mat brand new from someone for $10 so it's well worth it for me, but I think $50 is too expensive for the mat. It's filled with this foam and gel material that is a bit like putty and unfortunately doesn't flatten out if disturbed. It also doesn't feel cool to the touch unless pressure is applied to it, so it might not work for something like a chihuahua or light pet. The mat fits my 36" crate very well though and recharges without a fridge.
I think the akc mats are the cheapest and most worth it for the money on amazon. The giant mats go for ~$20 if you don't care about the pattern option that you get. They're filled with a more liquid gel material that is cold to the touch and recharges without a fridge. I am on my second one however, as they're prone to being chewed on by puppies and will leak if chewed. I ducktaped the edges of my newest mat to prevent further chewing. I think it's well worth it if you don't have a chewer.

And I zipped the cooling pad AND the tray into both of the bed bags/envelopes and wedged it back into the crate. It’s worked really well, even with Little Miss Mayhem, who greatly enjoys rearranging her furniture at 3 a.m.
