Sounds to me as though he is referring to the types of door pull up bars that are just a pole which twists outwards. e.g.
CheshireIsBack: Your door frame looks completely normal (standard), pretty much anything intended for a standard door frame should fit.
EDIT: Also adding support to Iron Gym series of pullup bars. I have the Iron Gym Extreme sitting in the door near me, toll for leaving my home office = 2 neutral grip pull ups!
