I've decided to get myself a solar powered watch. My issue is that I can't seem to nail down a good timeframe on how long they last. The closest I get is some forums that have people say "forever, mine's still kicking at 8+ years."
That's great, just not a definitive answer. I ask because if I want to get a model such as this one from 2012 (thanks to u/mochabear1231 for bringing this one to my attention the other day), I'd wonder how much life it'd have left.
Some of Citizen's more recent models interest me as well, but I'm trying to keep my options open.
Anyone have an idea?
Ahh ok yeah that makes a difference. There are a couple Citizen watches like this one that is a little more sporty like the Seiko you linked (pardon the Amazon link again...just for display purposes).
I havent checked if they have any that match your criteria but I know Long Island Watch ships to Canada for a $5 flat fee and I dont think they have significant price differences like Amazon does.
All else fails, there are companies that will buy the watch in the US and then ship it to you
They make it like this. I have not seen a rose gold (though I am no expert) but these blue hands catch my eye and its on my list!

$80 including US shipping. Great shape, just normal wear. Let me know if you have any questions.
hah, yeah they can get pricey...by I got this one a while back when it was around $130
I just received this watch as a gift and really dislike the black strap. It's 22mm and wondered what anyone here would recommend as a replacement. Thanks in advance.
Hello! I have no experience at all in watched, but I want to buy one as a present and I’ve been doing a bit of research, and now I’m asking here directly for you guys to help.
I want something elegant and simple, not for everyday usage but more like events, suit, etc. And I think I prefer something not automatic for less care needed and hassle.
My budget is 200usd Max, and I’ve read that maybe Citizen eco-drive and Seiko solar is what I should look for. There are a couple of Citizen I think look nice:
Any model you would suggest? Depending on where I look I see a ton of different watches and I don’t know if some of them are too old and it’s better to get a new generation, etc. So I ask you for advice.
Selling Citizen Eco-drive dress watch, the watch is in like-new condition with the paper outer box purchased the watch about a year ago and it never got the wrist time.

Would these two work together?
I really want a watch with a white dial, and a small link bracelet. Haven't found what Im looking for but if i can swamp the bracelet this would be good
oh shit my bad
It's actually a black strap, in fact! Here's the watch on Amazon: [link]
I have a Citizen Eco Drive.
Missing a band strap loop. Great condition!
Just picked up this beautiful watch from another user here. Unfortunately, a little too big for my wrist (42mm), but it's beautiful. Just trying to break even from the last purchase after shipping costs. $80 INCLUDES SHIPPING IN THE US! PM me with any questions.

Also have another posting if you'd like to work out a bundle deal - [link]
I'd give it a miss, it seems like an unknown.
Would you go for this Citizen?
The Orient Star that /u/thegreatmothra linked to is more expensive, but definitely the pick of the bunch, imo.
I think its around on par with Bulova, but I'm not too sure. I'd also definitely check out Citizen, Hamilton, or Seiko.
Maybe something like this:
Personally I'd go with Hamilton though. They make great watches that look good, and the company has a pretty cool history.
I love the white dial/blue hand watches. Here are the Japanese ones in your price range.
The main difference between these two is really the movement.
I have two jobs, though one is more of a paid intern-ish-ship.
I am a brand Manager for a company, as well I am moving into Marketing for a bigger company. My collection is not that big (as I pay rent, and save for a future)

I am actually looking to sell all except the Citizen and the 1 face watch. The citizen was a gift from my mother, and then 1 face from my SO. If you are interested please feel free to message me. I can cover shipping costs!
