I'm Irish Genealogist Peter Clarke - AMA!
I am Peter Clarke, an Irish genealogist specialising in Irish records. As anyone who has spent time looking into their Irish ancestry will know, going back any distance can be fiendishly difficult. There are sources out there, but they are fragmented, siloed, incomplete and, of course, undigitised. My first big genealogical project was my website Free Irish Genealogy eBooks where I gathered together all of the relevant online resources I could to give people an easier route into researching their family history.
In the past few years, I have decided to go a step further and I have been digitising and compiling records myself from the era of the Kingdom of Ireland (1542-1800). I have now collected over 120,000 records from myriad sources and have just published my first volume on Amazon. AMA! Proof: Hello
From the /r/genealogy moderators:
This post is being published early to allow our users to ask questions ahead of time so that Peter Clarke can have questions available when he returns at 17:00 GMT/Noon EST. Please remember to be respectful when asking questions, and don't ask him to look up your ancestors in his eBooks or new volume of record collections. He compiled these for YOU to use. Please do ask him questions about how he compiled his research, organized it, about his interest in genealogy in general, etc.
See you all at 17:00 GMT (noon EST)!
