This is exactly what I've always done. I like the CB for the low/high/peak distinction, but I like actually being able to see the strength of the line to determine actual positive OPK day. (...also, the Wondfos read faster than the CBs, and I'm not a patient woman.)
I really like the CBs because I don't feel like I have very readable CM most of the time. If you feel like you have a good handle on your CM, and if your CM follows a predictable pattern, you may not find them as useful -- the low/high distinction is made by detecting rising levels of estrogen in the fertile window, which is the same thing you're doing when looking at different kinds of CM.
This is the CB kit I've always ordered from Amazon. It's much cheapter to buy them from Amazon than in your local drugstore -- I think this same kit was something like $70 at my local CVS. You can re-use the reader for multiple cycles, as long as you still have sticks left.
I get them from Amazon, but I'm sure you can find a better deal somewhere. They are pricey for something you put pee on, but I think they're worth it.
You can use the old monitor with new sticks when you run out. Then old sticks with a new monitor. So, a box can last 2 to 3 cycles depending.
Honestly, I didn’t know how to get pregnant until about a year after we started trying. The sex timing isn’t like they described in 7th grade sex-ed class. 🤣
I used the clear-blue easy digital ovulation monitor. Warning- these AREN’T the cheap kind. They’re more than I wanted to spend, but I felt like I needed an idiot-proof method.
Clear Blue Easy Digital Ovulation Tracker - Amazon
I liked the clear blue digital advanced. You can get a 2 month pack for $40 on amazon , depending on how long your cycles are and how frequently you test (2x/day vs 1x/day).
I like them because they test for estrogen levels which increase before LH starts to surge. So your supposed to get some advanced warning of O.
I have no idea as to whether or not I've ovulated. Is there a good way to check? I used the Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Predictor Kit a few months ago, but it kept giving me a "false positive" about whether or not I was fertile.
Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test, Predictor Kit, Featuring Advanced Ovulation Tests with Digital Results, 20 Ovulation Tests [link]
That's really expensive. Try Amazon, you will get 20 tests for $40.
How are you only buying sticks? I've only found a new box with monitor, and I don't think my monitors even have a spot to change the battery.
I use this one
Love the info! Thank you. Mainly I meant the product listing.. Haha! Is it this one or this one?
Thanks again for sharing the study!
