This room is in my house in another country outside of the US, it's literally a generic display case from a local online amazon equivalent - I had no luck finding anything like this at any furniture store also. I was looking to change my deltoff case in my house in the US and I found this on amazon: [link] . It's a little bit smaller (the one on amazon is only 60cm long vs the ~70cm that I have) and unfortunately cannot be back lit since it is fully glass.
Got it on Amazon.
I'm looking for a good, relatively cheap display cabinet for my models, at least 60" tall. Anyone have any suggestions?
The ideal thing would be these Ikea Billy/Oxberg bookcases with glass doors, as they're very tall and cheap... BUT IKEA isn't delivering right not. Not sure if it's a temporary thing or if they've stopped delivery in general on account of the pandemic.
The next-best option I've found is this glass display cabinet:
Anyone have one of these? They're well-rated overall, but the negative reviews give me pause. Glass randomly exploding is something I definitely want to avoid. I'm also curious about how easy/difficult it would be to move one of these cabinets from one wall to another. The fact that the lanes of glass are very large also weakest me worry about damage in-transit, as whatever I buy would have to be delivered.
I'm from an area with no nearby ikeas either, been there.. felt that pain.. and searched endlessly.. Here's the best thing I could find. I have 1 of the 5 shelf units, and it's treated me well for a few years now. It's pricey though.. I think it was ~$240 or so?
I installed some custom LED strips and they look quite nice. I can share images of the loaded up unit.. if you care, and are interested. Good luck to ya :)
Would you be referring to this 5 shelf one? I don't but according to others who have bought it the smallest distance between any of the shelves is 14.75 inches and the largest gap is 16 inches so it would depend on how large your figure is. The shelves themselves are apparently 10x22 inches. If you're worried about weight I don't think that should be a problem. The shelves are listed as having a weight limit of 28 pounds per shelf.
And when it comes to buying anything from Amazon I will always tell people to MAKE SURE whatever you are buying is shipping from Amazon's warehouse. Just because it has prime shipping doesn't necessarily mean it is coming direct from Amazon. If it's not coming direct from Amazon and you require a return they will very likely tell you to deal with whoever the seller is before coming to them, and I guarantee you both will try to give you a runaround so they don't have to deal with it. If you get it direct from Amazon and are a prime member returns should be much easier to deal with or they may just even send you a new one free of charge. Although luckily I've never had any trouble with them. I've gotten 4 of the 4 shelved curios and all have arrived in good shape. As with anything being shipped great distances though there is always the possibility of shipping damage.
The cabinets were from Amazon, and pretty straightforward to assemble. Hardest part was moving the ~100lb shipping boxes up the stairs to our apartment on the 2nd floor. [link]
The Metal figures are really limited so far. I think the first one was the Hi-Nu, then they also did the Ex-S and now 00 with Strike Freedom on the way.

I got that case from Homedecorators.com (which is now run by Home Depot... I think). The cabinet is no longer available. I check every once in a while to see if they restock it because I would love another one. I didn't just buy this one ([link]) last week, so it's not in my pictures. I like it ok, but unfortunately the shelves can't be adjusted.
Just a heads up, this Curio Cabinet on Amazon [link] fits perfectly between two Detolfs on that base stand. My old configuration was like that, but I wanted uniformity. Here's a picture of it currently. I like it a lot as it gives you a little more wiggle room on some of the larger figures. [link]
Here's the [link]( https://www.amazon.com/5-Shelf-Glass-Curio-Cabinet-Black/dp/B00FPGP4KA) Its called a 5 shelf glass curio cabinet black on amazon and its from Coaster Home Furnishings. Hope that helps! They're great, much better the Ikea's Detolf imo.
Its this one from Amazon
This is the case and These are the LED's i used.
Here's what I've found. All these prices are w/ shipping except for the Ikea one. The $190 one off of Amazon seems like the clear winner unless I really want to jump to the $1,050 one for something a bit wider w/ built in lighting.
$60 + shipping. Ikea Detolf: 17x75 [link]
$190 25x64 [link]
$900: 24x73 (lights) [link]
$1,050:. 40x78 (lights) [link]
$1,150 (lights): [link]
Similar? This one is in stock:
5-Shelf Glass Curio Cabinet Black and Clear [link]
I'd wait till they are on sale though, we got ours for like 150 ea
This is about $220 on Amazon.
Other than that, a KS City trip for a detolf or two is your best bet.
I personally don't like detolfs, and that Amazon one is pretty good.
I've really enjoyed this case. Only got one of this type so far, but it's quite nice.
Here you go!
Amazon. It was about $200. Found a link for what looks like the same one
Thank you! I just have them on acrylic risers and acrylic easel stands. The middle case is a Curio Case by Coaster on Amazon.

This one from Amazon
You should get one. The ones at Ikea work well and are cheap. If you live far from an ikea or want something different, this case has worked well for me: [link]
I got it here from Amazon. :)
