That's what i was worried about but just wrapping it up with electrical tape. and that if i wanted to use that end in the future that electrical tape always leaves a message goo in it's wake. These lights are pretty robust, i might modify one of the kid safety plugs so water won't collect on it and wrap it in tape.
I also have some of this (coax seal), which is probably more idea, and i might use.
Same here. The first ATT tech did put some sort of a heat shrink last August but this second ATT tech didn't. Not even cut the strands of protective fiber so I have to cut it myself with a nail cutter. I told him about not cutting the fiber cable short so I have enough to work around if I need to move it into my Keystone wall plate. He cut it short anyway. Might need to pull several inches of fiber from the outside junction box & apply a sealant tape that I used for ham radio antennas on the connector. I just need to look for it.
I have used that stuff when I did Hughesnet installs - they require it.
I like the stickier stuff myself, granted it is less fun to service down the road, I buy this stuff by the box wholesale
> I hate taping connections.
So do I. There's an alternative :
Coax seal -

It 'fuses' to itself sealing out everything nature throws at it...
