Defiantly a monitor bar. here
This is life changing. The best desk upgrade I’ve bought. Even though you already have a desk lamp, you don’t know what you’re missing.
Here’s the link to the screenbar. It’s the amazon version, but it’s been perfect for me. It lets you adjust the brightness and the color (there’s three options for cool/warm/very warm light).
BenQ is the gold standard but they're definitely pricy. I've seen this on Amazon get pretty good reviews but couldn't tell you from experience if it's a solid alternative. Reviews suggest that it is though.
I just got the same keyboard and have the same gripe. Honestly I use mechanical keyboards and this is still a fantastic membrane keyboard to type on. I think I'm going to just get a light bar for my monitor - something like this https://amazon.com/dp/B07TCYBQGK
I hope links are allowed, but this is the one I got. Not crazy expensive or anything, but gets the job done. I’m sure there’s fancier ones out there but this is a good starting point at the least.
I love them! Gives me extra lighting without having to buy a huge desk lamp. The brand is Lofter but I'm looking them up now and they're no available anymore on Amazon =( They were like $35 each and work perfect;.
I think first of all, start using your big monitor as your main screen. Your laptop has a pretty small screen and it will hurt your neck after a while.
Maybe save some money for a second monitor and try to work with a docking station for your laptop. Just 2 monitors on your desk will look so much better than a laptop and a big ass screen :)
Add a screen light on top of your monitor to let your eyes rest and relax.

And maybe something important… Cable manage the hell out of it. Make it look wireless xD There is nothing more eye pleasing than a desk without cables.
Not helpful but I am also in the market for a similar lampdesk and hope you see some better answers.
The best option I can find is the monitor lamps like this amz.
That will atleast make the desk and video chat better.
Thanks for the suggestion!
The light is a monitor light bar. I just had it facing upward in this photo to illuminate the lenses. I got it from Amazon.
That's awesome to hear that I can help out with that, and extra thanks for the compliments! My setup started out super janky, but it's gotten to a better spot now. The two headphones thing: the right set is hooked up to my computer - mainly for gaming, the left one is just a bluetooth pair that's hooked up to my phone so I can listen when I'm working on something with my hands but want decent music.
I would definitely go with the dock you linked - cheaper and looks like it had more ports. Just make sure it passes through enough power to actually charge your laptop.
The desktop I actually built myself - it's poplar wood stained kind of dark, then polyurethaned and sanded to 220. Dimensions are 24 inches deep by 65 inches wide, although I wish I would have gone maybe 30 inches deep instead. It's sitting on top of a set of sit/stand desk legs that have worked out great for me so far (that's linked in my other post also).
For the portrait monitor - I work with a good bit of code for my work, but nothing too crazy, and having it vertical makes reading code amazing. Downside is that actually writing it and using the compiler isn't as great as I thought it would be due to low width real estate.
That light bar up top is just a generic one I found that I liked. It has different color temperatures (3) and brightness levels, plus it's super bright, definitely recommend it. :)
I like the lamp, but I really prefer top light. I use this guy: Computer Monitor Light, LOFTER Screen Light Bar e-Reading LED Task Lamp with No Glare on Screen, USB Powered Monitor Lamps for Office/Home, Adjustable Brightness/Color Temperature Reading Light https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07TCYBQGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PNGD9TN513RM1HHS08HM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The Lofter.
After realizing it wouldn't fit, I did some Googleing and it seems light bars and this monitor do not play well together. I'd like to see how you have your BenQ mounted though.
Just to add more options, I've had this one for 18 months and it's still perfect. Currently $31: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TCYBQGK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The inline cable "remote" sits right under my monitor.
I saw it on r/battlestations and picked it up! Here’s the model I have.
It’s great to have at night both for some extra lighting when the lights are off and to soften the screen light on your eyes.

Originally I did have an LED lamp but I found it only lit up a portion of my desk so I bought this light but I actually like to have it pointed upwards and light the ceiling... probably can do the same with a regular LED desk lamp. It’s a knock off of the BenQ screen bar
This one, since I couldn't find the Benq light bar with top buttons in stock.
I love mine and highly recommend it, especially if you don't want to keep a lamp on your desk.

You don't have to spend that much. I have this and it works great.

I first thought it might be an eye tracker. Seems to be this light bar though https://www.amazon.com/Computer-LOFTer-Adjustable-Brightness-Temperature/dp/B07TCYBQGK/
This is the one I got. Computer Monitor Light, LOFTer... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TCYBQGK
Here’s the Amazon link. Works great and definitely cheaper than the BenQ version

Helps to use a non-RGB keyboard at night.
It's a personal thing, I prefer my PC desk to only have PC related things and hide my lights / cables.
OP clearly does written work on the side of the desk as well so it may not be the best suggestion.
Probably these or similar: https://www.amazon.com/Computer-LOFTer-Adjustable-Brightness-Temperature/dp/B07TCYBQGK
I didn't find the exact same on amazon (i bought mine on a local shop) but this is almost the same one https://www.amazon.com/Computer-LOFTer-Adjustable-Brightness-Temperature/dp/B07TCYBQGK
Nice.. I use these at work https://www.amazon.com/Computer-LOFTer-Adjustable-Brightness-Temperature/dp/B07TCYBQGK

So far I really like it. It was deff brighter then I thought it would be, but fortunately the brightness can be adjusted.
This is the light bar I bought off Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TCYBQGK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
It works pretty well, the picture makes it look more in your eyes then it actually is!
just this monitor light from amazon! i bought it cause it was half the price of the benQ one and it's been great - took it off from another monitor before i had this one and still sits perfectly fine, and it didnt damage the old one. i've even bought some for my dad so and they've held up fine so i'd say they've worked well for me and were worth the money
It's not the same one, but I use this light and it's very good.

Probably this
or
Not the least expensive but work great. A few different light modes, too. I just like the bright white.

It's a copy from the BenQ$100 lamp lol. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TCYBQGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_0FYB6C0B6PJ5DMQMCVHS
It's worthy and this one is from Amazon. Gets the job done tbh. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TCYBQGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_0FYB6C0B6PJ5DMQMCVHS

I like the style of the first link but it doesn’t have the adjustability of the second link. I have two of these lamps, one on either side of my monitor and they have like 5 color temps and 7 dimmer settings so you can definitely match your night mode in windows or Mac OS. Would just recommend one lamp, it’s all that’s needed. There may be better options that look like the first link (would search for: monitor light bar).
Thanks! It's this lamp from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TCYBQGK/
