A fabric defuzzer shaves off those little fuzzies or lint pills that build up on clothes and other textiles over time. I bought this one from Conair off Amazon. It's worked really well so far. Just make sure to lay the fabric on a hard and flat surface, and move the defuzzer slowly over the fabric because it can get caught and pull the textile or make a small hole if used too quickly or on an uneven surface. Oh, and use a more powerful battery e.g. alkaline AA batteries.
Cop one of these and that sweater and any future sweaters will look fresh af
Eudae pills like mad. This is mostly caused by friction of any sort (in my experience). So I get this along the bum/back even with gentle washing because of friction vs. office chairs and such.
If you're in the states and have a top-loading washer, you're gonna have a bad time. Otherwise use wool/gentle cycle and hang dry - it won't completely avoid it, but it helps slow it.
There's "pill shavers" that can trim these off if they get too bad. e.g. - [link]
I use this conair de-fuzzer from amazon and it makes it super easy! However depending on how pilled the item is sometimes there’s just no saving it unfortunately
Not a tip for avoiding, but I have a really cool (and really cheap) tool that shaves them off making the pants look brand new. I usually do it every couple months and my sweats and sweaters always look fresh.
Something like this one on Amazon for $15. [link]
They're incredibly handy to have around (as you can see from the almost 50,000 reviews on that specific one).
If the problem is just pilling from wear you can buy a fabric shaver like this one, it’s the best! Especially if you actually love the pants. 😊
You're very welcome! I have two and they have held up well the past several months. But you'll definitely want to get a "sweater shaver" to deal with the pilling if you don't have one already. If you don't put it out you might not need one, but if you use it at all, or even just leave it out for decoration you definitely will want something for it.
Conair makes an electronic version, it has three settings so this shouldn’t happen. However I was heavy handed on a lighter weight sweater and cut a tiny hole in it. So just be mindful of how much pressure you apply. I love mine, 10 out of 10 would recommend.
I asked a Lulu educator and she said this is the one they use at her store for de-pilling!
Nulu is a delicate fabric that is more prone to pilling so investing in this when you own Nulu products is a good idea :)
Damn. Does SK take returns even? My wegobuy agent said they didn’t before I bought?
I wonder if you could use one of those “pill removers” to smooth out those tips. Something like: Conair Battery Operated Fabric Defuzzer/Shaver, White, Regular [link]
You can get a pill shaver for really cheap for this exact purpose and they work wonderfully and fast.
I've also used it on non sweater slightly pilled brushed cotton. With care does a bang up job. This is what I purchased and have been happy with, 3 level adjustments.

My UFTs are over 2 years old & still look the same as day 1.
Runweights suffer from a little pilling. I just ordered one of these to try & remove the fuzz.
Just picked up one of these based on another redditers suggestion. Works really well for getting pill off your clothes.
I used a fabric shaver when I had a pair to get rid of the lint on the sock liner. Very safe to use and works great.
I have one of these on hand, I tried it out on my ultrafine merino for the first time and it worked like magic. Tshirt looks new again..
Can't comment on how fast the pilling will return, but so far its been fine.
There are theese tiny machines that do it for you. [link] This for example
Another option is to quit using the dryer, it is hard on your clothes so thats a plus, and no lint. Thats pretty much all I got.
Try taking it in to a local sewing shop like JoAnn Fabrics for advice, or check YouTube for tutorials. There was a sweater "de-piller" to get rid of those little balls that sweaters develop over time, and there might be a handy little gadget for your damaged sweater. Something like this. [link]
(DO NOT take a brush to your sweater. Especially not a wire brush. That's something you will regret.)
It's called "pilling". It's caused by friction and is unavoidable with certain fabrics. You can sheer off the loose fabric with a shaver.
Here you go:
Get a sweater shaver .
This is called pilling .
I got this one from Conair :)
Conair Fabric Defuzzer - [link]
This is the exact one I bought!
Edit: you do have to clean it after ever couple pieces of clothing you shave but it works very well and it's not too hard to clean :)
I have one of these. It works great.
I swear by my Conair defuzzer!
As someone with several cats, trust me, get a fabric shaver. Basically it cuts extended fabric, works great on clothes, blankets, cushions, etc. [link]
Fabric shaver from Amazon (conair brand). I always use mine on my aligns but in the dullest option since aligns are delicate!
conair fabric shaver
this is the one I’ve got —it’s about 2 years old now—works like a dream!
It’s called pilling. Here’s a good guide for preventing it from happening: [link]
It can be addressed with a fabric shaver: Conair White Battery Operated Fabric Defuzzer-Shaver, Regular [link]
Hmm, never had a problem with mine. I think you have a bad shaver. I have this, cheap and performs well Conair Fabric Defuzzer - Shaver; Battery Operated; White [link]
Conair Battery Operated Fabric Defuzzer/Shaver, White, Regular [link]
This is what I mean just to be sure we are talking about the same type of thing. I use it on delicate sweaters and lululemon pants so I’d imagine it’s gentle enough.
Something like this would also work, if you don't want to risk singing your footwear lol.
If/when they start to pill, use a fabric shaver to remove the pills. They’re like $12 and make your leggings look good as new.
Yes! I have this one and it works wonders on all my lulu. Conair Battery Operated Fabric Defuzzer/Shaver, White, Regular [link]
This is what we use: [link]

If its those little gray balls that get stuck to it, try using a razor and scraping them off. They also make a little machine for it if using a razor isn't helping
Do yo have a fuzz eater I would die if I didn't have one since I also have the thicc thighs.
Get a sweater shaver.
$9 and your problems are solved
I got one of these and never have to worry about pilling again.
You may need something like this:

You need one of these my friend! Works great on FWUs.
Get a lint shaver, I got this one, it works great
Dry cleaning won't affect the fit at all. For pilling, get one of these.
[link] would this be good? Or do u have any recommendations?
Probably this: [link]
You could also try this one: [link]
I have it and love it. And since it is actually slicing the pills off, the rest of the surrounding fibers don't get pulled around.
I have this one.
Buy one of these shavers. Works great for me.
Buy one of these. It cuts the pills off cleanly so you don't harm the sweater.
Buy one of these, something is seriously wrong if you're having to replace sweaters every year. A good sweater will last decades.
