Pest control salesmen here
Buy Cyzmic CS on Amazon and a month later buy and use Demand CS a month later. This is the next best thing next to getting a pest control company because carpenter bees suck getting ride of and most companies will come back for free.

Remember...you can and should spray trees, the house itself, the foundation....legit go crazy. If you find that your pesticide doesn't last long enough, the next step up or sideways to try would be https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004HFPZRM/
I think it definitely matters who is sent out by Orkin. I was in a similar situation a few weeks ago with the assload of paper wasps descending on my house so I called them up. Called on a Sunday, they were able to send someone out on Monday. Unfortunately it stormed that night and they weren't active when he was there the next day but he was very nice, looked around the house, checked out common problem spots, and answered all of my questions. No cost because he didn't spray.
I set up an appointment for a few days later for him to come back and actually spray but decided to cancel and spray the house myself because I remembered that I had this for previous bug issues (works well!): http://www.amazon.com/Cyzmic-Compare-Demand-oz-78938/dp/B004HFPZRM. They most likely use a very similar product when they do it and it would be $250 cheaper and only an hour of my time.
I would consider doing it yourself, see if it works, before dropping the $200-300 that Orkin wants. Get that Cyzmic CS and a sprayer: http://www.amazon.com/Chapin-20000-1-Gallon-Garden-Sprayer/dp/B000E28UQU At most, you're out $30-40 if it doesn't work, and you'll have a sprayer for future bug infestations.
Do it in the evening when they aren't active, spray the entire perimeter of the house, window frames and soffits, and gutters. The Orkin guy said that this time of year the wasps are often looking for a place to nest so if you can get some problem areas sprayed now, it might stop them from even getting a nest started. Good luck!
