Just a thought, some companies make little plastic frames of sorts that go under the mask to keep it off your mouth. Maybe you could find one for kids!

No, it’s a plastic thing you can buy, they sell them at drugstores where I live. Let me see if I can find a picture.
Edit: [link] this is just a random Amazon link, but this is what I mean!
Try these frames taped inside your mask with surgical tape. The surgical tape (I use the 3M brand) won’t make you break out and will make the mask and frame a single unit so you won’t keep adjusting the frame. Keeps the fabric off your lips and gives you room to breathe. Cool Lipstick Protection Stand -... [link]
I recently was gifted a mask brace. It's like a flexible plastic cage that you set under your mask to hold the fabric off of your face while still keeping you covered. It helps me feel less like I'm going to pass out because I already have some breathing issues, and it keeps the mask from touching my lips at all!
Here's a link to one option: [link]

They’re cups you put inside the mask and it prevents the mask from getting caught in your mouth when you breathe in hard. I’ve tried many masks with it and they all work. No issue with it slipping out either.
I would suggest maybe trying out one of these or those patches for cold sores. I’m sorry I feel for you because I have been concerned about a bad cold sore and my mask rubbing this whole time.
I also work in healthcare, so masks are a must! I got my nose pierced on Tuesday and so far, so good. I bought one of these to keep the mask from rubbing against my nose.
Also in SF. I got a set of these to put under my mask: [link]
It sort of…hooks on to the folds in your mask. It stays in place through the entire workout, though it tends to fall off if I pull off one side of my mask. It does stay in place if I pull the mask down to get a sip of water, though.

Order these and wear with a disposable mask. They stay in place and make it way easier to work out.
These have helped me!
Also pinching the mask tight around your nose will stop the fogging regardless of if you have those or not

Doing a quick search of Amazon, you could try buying something like this. It's a mask insert that pushes the cloth away from your face, while still keeping the thing sealed around your mouth and nose. I wonder whether something like this might make you feel less anxious.
I'm not a medical professional, so I can't speak to whether this changes the efficacy of the mask, so you should do more reading before you commit to it.
If people are having trouble hearing you, you should try these plastic mask things that go on the inside on the mask. It makes breathing and talking a lot easier
No, it’s like a silicone bracket for inside your mask
I have found the disposable surgical masks are best for me when I exercise and these fit perfectly in them. I just wash them with soap and water after each use.
You have to get one of these little inserts to put in your mask. It prevents the mask from sucking in like you said. Mask Insert AmazonIts the only way to make it through on the treads.
As a reminder to parents out there from a bay area special ed teacher, we have access to cloth and surgical masks. Please make sure that your child can tolerate wearing one of those if their personal mask breaks or gets dirty and needs to be swapped out. Many students, especially young ones, don't like those masks but that's all that we have to offer. Everyone would rather parents not get called because the student won't wear a mask, so please take the time to work on tolerating.
To help with that, I love mask inserts. These are plastic inserts that keep the mask off the mouth and distribute the pressure around the mouth. We have two types, some smaller ones that stay entirely inside of the mask and some larger inserts
that move the pressure out to the cheeks but require a bit larger face so the 1st grader may not like it as much. They aren't perfect, but if you're little one chews on the mask or doesn't like the feeling of the mask on their lips, this may be a lifesaver.
Hopefully, this order is lifted soon, but until then, thanks to all the parents making sure to keep up with the restrictions. It isn't much in the grand scheme, but simply not needing to mess with the morning routine because somebody doesn't have a mask to get one out from the closet can throw things off is amazing.
This is the pack I bought but there are lots of options:
Some kids use mask brackets under their masks to help breathe.
They also sell anti fog transparent face masks for DOHOH people
Mask Support Frame
I personally use a mash cage to prevent it touching me like this is helps a lot [link]
Maybe look into something like this? You wear it under a regular face mask.
Put a spacer in between you and your paper mask.
No because the mask should still have a seal around the edges. This is similar to the one I use: [link]
you can probably get one of these things to protect your nose and you should be good to go
A lot of guys on my team have found that a combination of disposable masks and an insert makes it easiest to breathe during practice. I personally prefer cloth masks with the insert just because they are reusable and I feel less wasteful. I'll link the ones that I and many of my teammates use, but really if you just Google or search Amazon for inserts for working out I'm sure you'd be able to find something that will help.
I used these to prevent sucking on wet mask.
these guards that go under the mask help a lot
Maybe try one of those plastic mask guards! It helps keep the fabric from going in your mouth and it does help me breathe a little better.
