As far as I know, I'd recommend getting the Cooler Master MH-751's over this set because they're basically an updated version of the HyperX Cloud IIs for ~$2 cheaper on amazon. The Cloud IIs are rebranded Takstar Pro 80s, while the MH-751's are rebranded Takstar Pro 82s.
I have the Mh 752 and personally love them. Very comfy and low profile.
Cooler Master MH751 is $60 right now on amazon. Absolutely the best deal at that price
Cooler Master MH-751 MH751 2.0 Gaming Headset with Plush, Swiveled Earcups, 40mm Neodymium Drivers, and Omni-Directional Boom Mic for PC, PS4, and Xbox https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JH3LSHN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Pe9jDbW8TRB04
I personally use the CoolerMaster MH751, it's a really well rounded budget headset (especially for the price). Amazon Link

I use these and can definitely say I hear stuff that my teammates don’t.
Thought I’d mention if someone is looking excellent quality mic over these should check out the Cooler Master MH751 on Amazon. They’re $106 currently cheaper if you get warehouse deal MH751
I have the cooler Master MH571, they're very soft and comfortable and I can wear them all day. Sound quality has been good for me, mic quality I'm told is quite good and it's within your budget
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JH3LSHN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_3WXYM41BJ38QBNM68102
I gotta say it. Everyone saying this is an "awesome headset" is just dead ass wrong. This headset blows big dicks and you can easily get one that blows it out of the water for lower than this price. It is not good. The sound quality is not good. The microphone is not good. The headset fit is not good. It's marketing bs.
I recommend https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Swiveled-Neodymium-Omni-Directional/dp/B07JH3LSHN
The mh751 is back at 106$ on amazon, but you never know how long it's available at that price.
We see very few recommendations for the M20x. It has the same deficiencies as its more expensive brethren, namely poor quality pads and lack of comfort, plus much inferior sound. It also lacks a removable cable.
If you want something less expensive than the M40x, I'd recommend looking at the Cooler Master MH751. It is marketed as a gaming set, but the mic is removable and it is actually a clone of the well respected Takstar Pro 82.
The original Creative Aurvana Live! is the best under $100 for pure sound quality, but it has some drawbacks. Mediocre build quality, non-removable cord, small pads and little isolation for a closed back headphone.
Not sure what your use case and budget is but I'm pretty satisfied with the Cooler Master MH751 headset. Regularly on sale for 65 bucks, usable with all platforms, mic included, and the audio quality is fantastic. For sub-$100 headphones, I think its superb value
i still use a pair of m50s i bought end of 2012. these were the most praised then for a pair of headphones less than $200 and still seem to be popular today.
apparently these coolermaster m751's are highly regarded and only $70. apparently very comfrortable. i dont own them though but if my current m50s break im going to give them a shot. wcs - i return them and get m50x or m40x.
I think you might have to go up to the $80 mark and look at the Takstar Pro 82, or the Coolermaster MH-751, which is the same headphone with a removable microphone and no bass slider.
Most of the recommended headphones under that price are either warm toned/bassy, or are semi-open, like the Superlux HD668b.
Cooler Master MH751 - Basically TAKSTAR PRO 82 w/ Removable MIC, SUPER DUPER Comfortable.
Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Headphones - If you can extend your Budget to about $50 more.
Not sure if this would be too big for an 8 year old... But you get good sound and good mic along with good comfort (adult size head)
https://www.amazon.ca/Cooler-Master-MH-751-Neodymium-Omni-Directional/dp/B07JH3LSHN/
The Cooler Master MH-751 does have a removable mic and cable :)
The MH-571 is also Vmoda BoomPro Mic compatible.
You can also EQ with something like the program Equalizer APO for Windows 10 to get some more bass out of the MH-571 or any other headphone/headset.
For a headset with more bass by hardware design, and with all of the other features in ballpark price range, check out the Status Audio CB-1 paired with a Vmoda BoomPro Mic.
If you want a pre-built bass oriented headset with the detachable mic and cable features, then check out the SteelSeries Arctis 3 & Arctis 5.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07FZQJ8PY/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_jIyVEbCPFSAVF
>The SteelSeries Arctis 5 2019 Edition are better gaming headphones than the SteelSeries Arctis 3 2019 Edition since they are compatible with the SteelSeries Engine software, which offers plenty of customization options and controls. The Arctis 3 are more versatile since they are Bluetooth-compatible, making them more outdoor-friendly. The Arctis 5 also have channel mixing, but they don’t have the excellent microphone of the Arctis 3.
Alternatively, depending on use cases for needing a microphone in a headset, you can always use a desktop mic and headphones for PC gaming. which greatly expands your options if you are not married to the headset concept and dont feel the need to game on non-PC platforms. But, getting a headset with a 3.5 mm jack is great for gaming on all of your devices (something that all of these headsets can do).
Yeah, I was just looking at it compared to mine (got one of these, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JH3LSHN). I keep mine just on a hook and the ear cups like actually touch each other at rest.
I've been using this for 2 years now and for the price I've really been liking it.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JH3LSHN
It's way under your budget so you probably are looking for something better.
Thanks for the info! I considered ModMic
and similar alternatives, but those are unexpectedly hard to come by in my country. When it comes to "decent" gaming headset, I've looked into Cooler Master MH751 and (while more on the "broadcaster" side) Audio-Technica BPHS-1, both of which are great options. However for me, I can't use can-like headsets for long times, so I frequently switch between in-ear buds and "proper" headphones. So having the mic attached permanently to a set of cans is not really the best option for me.
Standalone headworn mic has also the benefit of being separate and if it goes bad it's possible to just switch it out for another one. Or use it elsewhere etc. So out of all the form factors I've tried (regardless of sound quality) the most flexible and suiting for me was headworn/earhook separate mic.
I will ping you if I find something worthwhile, but it would seem that this form factor is strictly for professional use or a complete DIY with soldering and stuff (which is doable, but a bit bothersome for me)
I'd get the mh751/mh752 from cooler master it's the same price, it's just a reskinned Tasker pro 82 with a microphone and it sounds way better
https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Swiveled-Neodymium-Omni-Directional/dp/B07JH3LSHN
I've bought this pair for a couple friends and was surprised by the mic quality. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JH3LSHN/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o00\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the best headset I've found price to performance wise. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JH3LSHN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This is easily the best price to performance gaming headset I've seen https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JH3LSHN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
>mh751/752
They're not better than the mh751?
Cause they're on amazon.ca for 100 dollars. https://www.amazon.ca/Cooler-Master-MH-751-Neodymium-Omni-Directional/dp/B07JH3LSHN?th=1
Shouldn't people be buying those instead?
Maybe consider the Cooler Master MH751. It’s on sale via Amazon now for about $80.
Here’s a link.
The problem with wireless headphones is you get what you pay for: you're paying for the headphones + the electronics for a digital to analog converter and amp. A nice wireless headset will cost more than $80; the mh751 is a great wired headset for the price (it's a takstar pro82 with a mic attached) and that costs $80. So in that price range, you're going to make significant sacrifices. They'll either be uncomfortable, have bad sound, bad quality control, or a bad mic. That being said, if you're on a budget, I'd suggest getting the MH670 ($90) or the HyperX Cloud Stinger Wireless ($65). Here's a table with the pros/cons of various headphones near that price.
Ok, in my opinion the best set that fits your requirements would be the Cooler Master MH751. It's low profile, lightweight (the mic can even be removed if you aren't using it), volume control on the cable, works with any device, and has great sound quality. If you want to stretch your budget a little more then I can personally vouch for the Senneheiser PC37x. This would be entering studio-quality sound territory and the mic/general build quality is top of its class.

Amazing headset for the price. Check reviews on youtube.
Adding a separate comment just in case Amazon links aren't allowed:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JH3LSHN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_gFQDFbWBVACKP
I've had these since june last year. Happy with the purchase.
Only go with open back if you're in a very quiet environment imo. I don't think it's stressed enough how important that aspect is when deciding what headphones to get. I live next to a busy roadway which makes open back not an option for me. They're still usable of course, but I definitely miss some footsteps unless I want my ears to bleed.
You probably can't go wrong getting either of these depending on your personal preferences w/ open vs closed. I used some hyper x cloud 2s for a couple years, and enjoyed those as well. Happy hunting.
Do you live in the US? They’re still available to order here https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Swiveled-Neodymium-Omni-Directional/dp/B07JH3LSHN
Dang, looks like it’s unavailable again. I ordered it about 30 minutes ago but looks like those things go pretty fast https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Swiveled-Neodymium-Omni-Directional/dp/B07JH3LSHN
Better mic than both logi and razer, one of if not THE most comfortable headset which i figure is pretty important for those long gaming sessions. As for sound quality i cant say from experience as i havent compared them , but im sure its better than those two as the takstar pro82(which the mh751 is) is very well regarded headset for the price, and its from a company that makes audio devices, not just slapping gaming on everything and charging premium.
I dont know where you looked to see the $100 price, but you can get it at Amazon for $88 , and Wallmart for $83.
Alternatively you could look for the said Takstar Pro82 if you already have a mic or you dont need it, it should be few bucks cheaper. And you also get vents for adjusting the amount of bass on them.
These savings aren't just Black and White.

Cooler Master MH751 - Rebranded from a decent Headphone.
None of those ~~Crap~~
Get this...
A good beginner setup for EDM/Metal listeners who play a good amount of video games? I'd readily suggest the closed-back Cooler Master MH751 for the low price of $60 (it's essentially a rebranded Takstar Pro 82v2 w/o bass ports and w/a detachable mic) --

The MH751 doesn't really require amping, but a nice starter dac/amp (for both gaming/music) would be the Sound BlasterX G6 for $158 --
Creative Sound Blasterx G6 on Amazon

Total cost: $60+$158 = $218.
If you can spend a bit more, replace the G6 DAC/AMP with the Topping DX3 Pro (if music is a strong top priority) for $220: $62 over the price of the G6, for a total of $60 + $220 = $280.

Hope this helps!
