Hi /r/mousereview,
Just a quick update on the MM710 and its progress through production. Here's a quick rundown of the changes:
New Cable (gif, rubber on bottom, braided on middle, newest on top)
The MM710 now has a newer, better cable. It's much lighter and more flexible than the cables you've seen prior. It also smaller and more even, which makes it easier to put in a mouse bungee than other lightweight cables. This is about as close as you can get to a paracord mod before removing the EMI shielding completely (will fail certification otherwise).
New PTFE Feet (pic)
The current rendition of the MM710 now has pure PTFE feet, a change from the older black teflon feet. Not only are the new feet thiccer, they glide extremely well after a small break-in period.
New Side Buttons. (Old on left, new on right)
The previous MM710s you've seen had sharp side buttons shared with the CM110 mouse. The current model has smoother, rounder side buttons similar to the older MasterMouse S. This makes the mouse more comfortable to hold and press.
New Main Buttons (Old on left, new on right)
The first iteration of the mouse had holes going far up the main buttons. The newer version removes some of these holes. This does make the mouse a little bit heavier, but nicer to hold on to and click if your fingers are back there in claw or fingertip grip.
Structure Optimizations (Old on left, new on right)
On previous mockups, you can easily squeeze the side of the mouse and actuate the side mouse buttons. On the new mockup, it's much more difficult to actuate the side buttons this way (not impossible, but requires an unrealistic amount of force you won't see during regular mouse usage). We've also manage to save some weight by removing some of the rear structural supports at the very back of the mouse, but still retain strength at the rear. This also makes the mouse slightly less back-heavy.
Release Date, Preorders, Stock Availability
The release date has been moved back a week or two to September 24th. You will be able to pre-order the mouse on US Amazon here. Other regions coming up shortly (EU, Asia Pacific). Unfortunately, we're not freethinking and genius enough to make it a one-time run, so that means if the mouse is out of stock, it'll come back in stock and you'll actually get another chance to get one if you miss out. Oh nooo...
We're still improving the mouse as we go, so what you see is not final (but it's close). Feel free to ask any questions here! I'll be able to answer for a few hours.
I've added links to each of them. K552 $40 @ CC, HyperX Alloy FPS Pro $90 @ MemX. MM710 $65 @ Amazon(White MM711 is $65.34; slightly heavier + rgb), G203 $50 @ Logitech + Free shipping; sometimes on sale for $30), Viper Mini $50 @ Memx, G502 Hero SE $50 @ Memx.

Need to replace my aging Roccat Kone+ that I picked up secondhand. Scroll doesn't work and left click is sticking.
I don't need the weights, I don't need RGB bullshit. I don't need 50 buttons. I just need a comfortable, preferably lightweight mouse that works.
I'm currently looking at these below. Thoughts?
CoolerMaster MM710 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T4VW9WP
Logitech G402 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L8VNQ88
Both of these are $40 each and very worth it (have both)
Firstly do you “palm grip” your mouse? Does your palm rest on the mouse or do you play with more of a claw? Below is an option for either grip
First one is for a more palm grip player I use it and love it:

Here’s a mouse for claw grip:

Edit 1: you can find viper mini for $35 used on amazon Edit 2: r/Mousereview has all your mouse needs
Personally, I'm getting the MM710. The choice between the 710 and 711 models basically narrows down to either if you want looks and ease of use over performance, or vice versa.
MM710 | MM711 | |
---|---|---|
Pros | Weighs 53 grams, approximately 7 grams lighter than the MM711. | Has RGB, more balanced weight. Newer model with patched issues that early MM710 mice had. |
Cons | Early releases/models of the MM710 mouse had some creaking issues, post travel problems, and potential activation of the side buttons when pressing the shell too hard. No RGB. | Is 60 grams compared to the 53 grams of the MM710. Some have the same side button activation issue when squeezing or pressing on the shell too hard. |
If you want to go for performance, then get yourself a nice MM710 on Amazon. If you want to go for a more stylish (perhaps more usable) mouse, go for the MM711, also on Amazon.
Albeit, there is one thing I cannot recommend, which are most pairs of "gaming" headphones. Most, if not; all "gaming" headphones have the tendency to break without even reaching a full year of use >!(Note: Do NOT use SteelSeries headphones, their headphones very frequently have soldering issues) !<and are generally more overpriced than some professional-quality studio and/or monitoring headphones. Another factor is what you're going to need most in the headphones.
However, if the mic is absolutely crucial, then it would of course be better to get a separate microphone. A great set of headphones and a microphone on a budget (which total to about $120 more or less) would be the ATH-AD500x and the Blue Snowball iCE. But, to answer your question: Yes, the HyperX Cloud Alpha is indeed a great pair of gaming headphones. They are reliable, sturdy, have great sound quality, and the microphone is clear. If you wish, go ahead and pull the trigger on them. If you want another great gaming headset, check out the HyperX Cloud Revolver S. I have heard nothing but great things about them, and many articles and reviewers say it is the best gaming headset on the market right now.

TL;DR: MM710 is better for performance, MM711 is more stylish. Your choice of headphones depends on what you really need them for. If you're dead set on getting gaming headphones, get the HyperX Cloud Alpha or HyperX Cloud Revolver S. Alternatively, if your budget is more wide seek a pair of professional headphones as well as a nice microphone to go along with it (preferably a USB mic.)
These savings aren't just Black and White.

is there any differentiation between the 1st and 2nd batches? tempted to snag one off amazon now, but figure I should be sure if it's 1st or 2nd batch first:
