It’s actually a fogging machine, so it releases less moisture but at a steady pace vs. the misting machines that spray everything wet. Here’s the link to where we got it from. 😉
This was the one I got from Amazon, but I live in Canada. Perhaps there are better options where you live. Just make sure you look at the reviews.
Coospider Reptile Fogger... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07VVNP7F3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
My biggest complaint with this is there is just 1 on/off switch and no timer, so a smart plug is a must! Lmk if you have more questions about this particular fogger :)
Dude this fogger could run probably three Martha’s at once. It only has to kick on for a few seconds to get the Rh all the way up to 99 it’s gonna run you about $50 but imo it is worth it. Do a Google search for “reptile fogger humidifier”. For a 3 X 3 it’s perfect! You can even mount it outside the tent and run the hose in
That tank will last you a few years for your smaller plants, probably a year or two for the bigger ones depending on growth. Nepenthes aren’t exactly champion sprinters when it comes to growth rate.
Your setup looks pretty good actually, a small fan and covering the top with plastic will work just fine (I have a moderate collection of plants in the exact same setup lol)
Check Amazon for “reptile foggers” I got this one for about 50$ and it works great. It has a long hose that I can run into the terrarium and keep the fogger outside, I’ve had it for two years now and it runs 4x a day. Haven’t had a problem with it at all.
A bit of advice would be to get a notebook (or use your phone) and record your humidity/temps during the day and at night. If you get a data set of these ranges over about a month or so you can determine if you need further heating/cooling.
It’s looking good! I’m sure the plants will love it. what varieties do you have, do you have any plants you want to get in the future?
I see a lot of responses, you seem pretty aware as a keeper. Outside of what you’ve been told- misting/add water to substrate, I would simply use a humidifier. Here’s a link to one on Amazon I use. It has been running non-stop for a year. I set it back in summer and up in winter.
COOSPIDER Reptile Fogger... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VVNP7F3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It’s easy to setup and you’ll find your snake basking in its mist. Once you dial this thing in- it keeps the humidity constant.
I can't find a inexpensive humidifier. I see misters or foggers like this one below. Is this the sort of device you use?: https://www.amazon.com/Coospider-Terrariums-Humidifier-Paludarium-Amphibians/dp/B07VVNP7F3/ref=pd\_bxgy\_sccl\_2/130-6037743-2984160?pd\_rd\_w=PfaTb&content-id=amzn1.sym.7757a8b5-874e-4a67-9d85-54ed32f01737&pf\_rd\_p=7757a8b5-874e-4a67-9d8...
I use this fogger I bought off of Amazon. It's 3 liters, so definitely holds way more water than the reptifogger. I've had the reptifogger twice and both times they stopped working. I haven't had any issues with this one and it lasts me around 4 - 5 days without filling back up. I have a merauke so I keep his tank around 70% sometimes higher.
Do you have a moisture gradient? They like it moist, but not too moist. I would only water one side.
Also, if you are willing to spend a decent chunk of change, you can get one of those humidifiers with the tubes, similar to this (I have this one and it has been working great!):
Then get a hygrostat (I've been loving the Inkbird IHC200), and some distilled water.
I have mine set to keep the humidity between 75 and 80 percent. Duckies seem to appreciate it, and it makes the moss dry out much slower.
You can accomplish the same thing manually, but I'm lazy, and would rather a machine do it for me.
I use a fogger, and it works great! I’ve had it for about a month, and it is still going strong. Here’s a link to the one I have:
https://www.amazon.com/Coospider-Terrariums-Humidifier-Paludarium-Amphibians/dp/B07VVNP7F3/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=1VGOU884WK9OL&keywords=reptile+fogger&qid=1640964462&sprefix=reptile+fogger%2Caps%2C88&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&s.... Try this one. I dont have it for a long time but I was recommended this one
My chameleon was having issues where he was closing his one eye. Not saying it was the same issue but this was my solution. COOSPIDER Reptile Fogger Terrariums Humidifier Fog Machine Mister 3L Large Size Ideal for Paludarium/Vivarium/Reptiles/Amphibians/Herps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VVNP7F3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_Z9D2F0X02DR77Q7N5D1Y?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 helped a lot with hydration issues and I leave it on both at night and day
If it's not this one, then it's a knock off cause it looks just like it. My only complaint is there is about a 3 week period where I really wish it held more water, but before/after that I don't have problems as the overlap of "I need to run the exhaust fan for aroma reasons" and "I still need high RH to keep everything alive" reduce the need to fill it more than once every other day.
This is what I use, along with a smart plug to run 20 mins on, 40 off. But pods always run away when the fog hits them directly. It took some time to fiddle around to get the right amount and placement for my enclosure, but the humidifier itself works great!
Oh okay that’s good to hear, I was worried it was too wet and warm.
Is this the one you’re talking about? There’s many variants - COOSPIDER Reptile Fogger Terrariums Humidifier Fog Machine Mister 3L Large Size Ideal for Paludarium/Vivarium/Reptiles/Amphibians/Herps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VVNP7F3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PZRRMS4T36G5J7NQFEKY
the only thing i can think of maybe is your temps. these little things do raise the water temps a bit, but you can either throw in a frozen water bottle to lower them or you can have the fogger in a separate res that feeds the mist in through a duct or tube. basically something more like this, but hooked into your main bucket
Watch out which one you get if you go the cool mist modding route: the one I tried to mod just ended up blocking up at the tube after 5-10 minutes. :( The gf got an armoatheraphy unit of of that excusion. Haha.
I got this reptile fogger on amazon, and it's been amazing. The tank lasts 2-3 days on the middle setting (on a humidity probe controller), and on high it can completely fog the enclosure. I accidentally turned Sydneys enclosure into a metallica concert the first time I ran it, not realizing the power it held. Just needed a laser light show.
My chameleon is the same, he hates the mister so I recently bought a fogger (I’ve only had it a few days but I really like it so far: https://www.amazon.com/Coospider-Terrariums-Humidifier-Paludarium-Amphibians/dp/B07VVNP7F3) and this seems to do the trick! His urates are way more white and the fogger produces enough humidity to create droplets for him. He also doesn’t mind it as it’s just continuous quiet mist
>I’m here for overboard. My substrate dried out the first grow. I still had a beautiful harvest, but I had to super soak them to get it. I followed the 90second video and saw how he squeezed it so nothing was coming out, misted the tops and even the sides, just wasn’t enough. > >So you’re misting every half hour roughly? Dang. Might really be time to figure out the next step and get more advanced. I’ve been looking at outdoor grow tents, I’m just nervous about how they stay the right temperature. I get a little overwhelmed at change. MD had helped but I’m still working on letting go of familiarities. > >Mush love and many thanks. I always appreciate Reddit. Kindness in the grow world is everything
No worries, I'm always willing to help!
I'd say it mists about 5-10 times a day for a few minutes each time. It definitely fans more often than that, which makes for amazing pin sets. But because the air is so humid in the grow tent, not as much water from the cake itself escapes into the air, which keeps it wet throughout.
So, the items I'm using:
https://www.amazon.com/Coospider-Terrariums-Humidifier-Paludarium-Amphibians/dp/B07VVNP7F3
This fogger, connected to this inkbird:
https://www.amazon.com/Inkbird-IHC-200/dp/B089K8J81Q
I have it set that when it finds the air in this grow tent to be under 85, it mists until the air is back to 90.
https://www.amazon.com/JT-Jupetory-Hydroponic-Removable-Growing/dp/B086GSZCS2
I have the mister set to drop all the fog into the top bin, which spills out to go into bins below it on my shelves inside the grow box.
Shelves:

I use this heater:
https://www.amazon.com/TECHVILLA-Overheat-Tip-Over-Protection-Oscillating/dp/B08DL514Q9
Connected to a temperature based inkbird, set come on at 75, and heat to 79.
Keeps the entire box warm, keeps the entire box humid. Fans keep the oxygen flowing.
Gallery of set up: http://imgur.com/a/zFUr8wU
The single bin in the pictures produced 350 grams wet on it's first flush using this set up.
I have all of this housed in a much larger grow box, but you don't need to do that. I did it for sterilization purposes, as it's enclosed space I can clean, without having to clean an entire room.
https://www.amazon.com/JT-Jupetory-Hydroponic-Removable-Growing/dp/B086GT5Y4L
You could do this entire set up in the larger box, and it would work just fine, or keep it all in a smaller box like I posted far above. Let me know if you have any questions!
Most certainly it’d be my pleasure 🤙🏻🍄
It’s a Coospider Reptile Fogger! 😉 Coospider Reptile Fogger link
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VVNP7F3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KB34C0WVB681DECDZ667 This is a new humidifier I got, generally I just leave the humidifier on it's lowest setting and have a fan within the grow tent.
I know fog isn’t the ideal for crested geckos, but I find my fogger works really well to keep my tank within a healthy humidity range.
I got this coospider large reptile fogger and this inkbird humidity controller IHC200 which I set to turn on the fogger when humidity drops to 50 and stay on until it hits 80. Then when humidity hits 80 it will turn off until it goes down to 50 again. My tank keeps at a nice range of 55 to 75% humidity. It’ll go off maybe once every few hours and allows the tank to dry out a bit too which is supposed to be good.
I mist with a big 1gal pump sprayer once a week just to add some extra moisture which keeps the fogger reservoir from running out too fast too.

If you already have the fan on a timer, these two products are all you need. You basically just plug the fogger into the sensor and set the desired humidity level, and the rest takes care of itself. This setup has taken a LOT of manual effort out of the process for me. I still mist once or twice a day just to give the substrate as much water as possible to make shroomies with, but if you’re busy or out of town for a few days it’s no problem. I’m going on a full week of vacation in a few months and all I have to do is make sure the tank on the fogger is full.

I use this reptile fogger
Try this humidifier. I can leave for about a week and it won’t run dry. Keeps humid and not moldy or anything. Pair with a humidity controller and you’re set for vacations. This controller has an app for easy humidity setting changes/checking while away, and alarms for high or low readings. As far as food I just have him on small rats every 10 days or so. Occasionally I’ll throw a medium rat in, but that’s how he got chonky.
humidifier if you dont already have one
try this one then get a humidity controller to automate
I use this fogger for my Martha and this humidity controller
I’ve found so many people saying that these require constant refilling, but truthfully mine can last 1-2 weeks without refilling. I have a tray with perlite under it and it stays at my desired humidity.
ya, i got it from a pet store, almost all of them have it just make sure not to get the green one. It may look better and “alive” but they use green dye which can be harmful to your snails. As for heaters, I got a heating mat off of amazon. Here are the links to my humidifier and heater: Coospider Reptile Fogger... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VVNP7F3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Tikaton Reptile Heat Pad -... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08137Z3M2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share). They work good for me and i keep my heater on all the time (but i have three layers of dirt and moss over it so they won’t go directly on the heat mat). I placed my heat mat on the outside bottom of my tank but it kind of lost its stickiness after a while but you can just use double sided tape to restick it! Also make sure to have at least one thermometer in your tank to make sure it doesn’t overheat:)
Bigger in size but can be located outside of the chamber. Less moisture on the electronics, hopefully will result in longer lifetime. I have not used it yet as I am still building the chamber, but plan to pipe the humidity through a hole in the door.
Yeah no worries! also fyi if the homemade humidifier is too costly/time consuming, I'd recommend this one off amazon
If you can afford to get a humidifier, I would recommend it. I have this one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VVNP7F3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but any cool mist humidifier would work. Ideally it will be hooked up to a humidistat.

It's an investment, no doubt
Thanks I've heard that about the humidity before. You think something like this would work? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VVNP7F3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_yzARFb2GN9F6B
