I sweet executive office chair from 10 years ago, a 40 dollar 6 ft foldout table from walmart, a mattress from the trash I can't believe I still own (planning to buy memory foam when I move in 2 years) and a couple shelves. I want to minimalism my shelves too as soon as I'm done selling my anime collection.
My best purchase are those 40 dollar fold out tables as a desk. Throw a tablecloth over them, never clean them, just the tablecloth. They fold away into nothing, lightweight, store away no problem.
I use this #povertydesk. Works great because it's easy to move with for 3rd year and plus you can clear it off for beer pong after your tests. Got 2 of them at walmart for $20 each on sale and I set it up in an "L" configuration. More important is a good office chair to save your glutes/ back.
Folding chair and folding desk / card table. Anything else is too big to carry around.
This is what I use in your exact situation:
It even has a handle for carrying when folded.
There are folding tables that are 6'x2.5' that fold down into 3'x2.5'x3" when they're put away. Something like this might be what you're looking for.
