lol i have the same one and yes it isnt that great. it cant seem to hold my atx mid tower PC (fractal design focus G) straight- the sliding part and side piece isnt strong and flexes. i have to shim with some cardboard pieces so it doesnt tilt
Here's one similar to what I use: https://smile.amazon.com/CPU-Holder-Under-Desk-Mount/dp/B077XCDLTH
It's similar, my only real complaint about it is the connection from the mount to the main body doesn't adjust sideways, so it tilts slightly if your case is too wide. Still sturdy though.
OH! I bought a "CPU desk mount" off of amazon. For the price... its okay. If you decide to get one for yourself, just make sure you actually make sure the case will fit. I had to modify mine and now it sits uncomfortably uneven. Still sturdy though.
I'm still looking for the perfect desk myself :/
I generally not recommend having it in a closed space to help with heat dissipation. Maybe you can try to fix something like that? Be careful about the dimensions of the tower though.
Yeah that's kinda short. I'm using this holder and the minimum height is 11.8". So maybe it would work for you with some spacers. Or you could just make your own out of strips of aluminum. It's easy enough to bend and should be secure, though it may be a pain to mount/unmount.
I recently installed a mount like this for my adjustable desk, holds my PC perfectly. Look up PC Desk mount on Amazon.
Even though you have hardwood floors I would move the tower off it. Maybe something like this or just a monitor riser would work.
Which desk did you get? If I go for a sit/stand, I'm probably going to buy frame only and then get a piece of butcher block for the top. That cable spine looks interesting though!
I'm reconsidering my layout. I may put my pc on top and then get an under-desk printer cart, the short ones on wheels, and place the scanner on that. (I'm about to start a massive photo scanning project, so scanner must be close.) Alternately, I may use something like this to "hang" the pc from the desk. I'm just not sure how I feel about it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077XCDLTH
I may use that same type of pc mount product for my UPS though. I don't trust mounting tape, etc. with the weight of my UPS!
You might also try something like this.
You say you have to put it on the desk cuz of space constraints. If you have space under the desk try this out
You could always mount it to the bottom of the desk so it's off the floor with a mount like this
Two $1,000 lists here Would go with the non-RGB since you're looking for simple and durable. both would work well. I love Fox's lists and that's why I share them but he only uses Amazon and 3600s are sold out on Amazon so I would substitute the 2600 on his lists with a 3600. I wouldn't just tuck the PC under the Desk as that is where the dust is and dust makes PCs hot I would look into an under desk/Wall mount like this to keep it off the floor if you don't have room on your desk.
