In my opinion, the stock one works great. If you are having issues, try washing it well with warm water and dish soap. Helps me everytime.
If you still are wanting a new bed, i would do PEI.
Even though i love the stock bed, i have been considering this pei sheet. I have a Prusa MINI+ and I mainly use the smooth PEI sheet and absolutely love it. I have no problems with it at all. Bed adhesion is amazing. Just make sure you have some rubbing alcohol to clean it every now and then as grease from your fingers will easily get on the bed.
Yes. If you're going all out, get a PEI bed. I just got mine and it's fantastic. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082PFL8TX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If not, I have an extra sticker I can send you if you pay for shipping.
I believe it’s the Comgrow brand (they’re pretty vague lol) but it’s on Amazon!

Not the original commenter, but this is the one I have:
Spring Steel Plate Magnetic Bed... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
I switched to a glass bed for about a year due to a low spot. Then I got the PEI sheet a few months ago. The spring steel is stiff enough to flatten out the bed.
I only print PETG and this surface is the best I’ve found so far: Spring Steel Plate Magnetic Bed Flexible Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet 235x235mm/9.2x9.2in for Creality Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3/Ender 5/Ender 5 Pro 3D Printer Platforms https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
This is the one I use, very happy with it. Spring Steel Plate Magnetic Bed Flexible Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet 235x235mm/9.2x9.2in for Creality Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3/Ender 5/Ender 5 Pro 3D Printer Platforms https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
Magnetic Spring Steel hands down my favorite print bed, best adhesion I've had and works 10x better than the creality glass one I had. Plus it doesn't require cooling you just lift the sheet off since it's magnetic and flexible so you barely flex it and the print pops off!

Just did a quick search. Quite a price range! Something like this?
Polyetherimide, also known as ultem. Its basically a sheet of fancy plastic. It adheres really well when warm, but realeases nicely when it cools. Sticks to ABS with none of the rain dance bs everyone seems to think they need to do. I just wipe it down with alcohol prior to big prints to keep it clean, and it works flawlessly. Been printing on the same bed with my ender 3 for a year now, and six months on my ender 5. The only adhesion issues ive had have been user error

I believe thats the one i have
One other thing to help prevent warping or detachment on long prints is a powdered coated PEI bed. Filament adheres to it very well while it is warm and releases when cooled. This is what I use, very happy with it… Spring Steel Plate Magnetic Bed Flexible Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet 235x235mm/9.2x9.2in for Creality Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3/Ender 5/Ender 5 Pro 3D Printer Platforms https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
Ima be real with you I had the same problem and just gave up on that bed. I got a PEI bed for Amazon and ever since I got my prints to stick. For reference this is the one I got: Spring Steel Plate Magnetic Bed Flexible Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet 235x235mm/9.2x9.2in for Creality Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3/Ender 5/Ender 5 Pro 3D Printer Platforms https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_QQCPRGNE2Y6SZ4DZQRPD
Yes, or just an area big enough for your print. I print only with PETG and used painter’s tape successfully for a long time. But eventually it becomes a pain to have to constantly replace. I suggest upgrading to a PEI coated flexible sheet. Works better than tape and easier to deal with.

I print PETG only, and never had an issue with this pei sheet 3D Printer Flexible Magnetic Bed Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet 235x235mm(9.25x9.25inch) for Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3/Ender 5/Ender 5 Pro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
I print at 80c bed temp, but I also print on a PEI sheet. My PETG always sticks to this: 3D Printer Flexible Magnetic Bed Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet 235x235mm(9.25x9.25inch) for Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3/Ender 5/Ender 5 Pro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
In the slicer you can increase the first layer width to make it push more filament out. You also have to have a extraordinary clean bed or bed adhesion supplements. I suggest a PEI print surface to make things easy. 3D Printer Flexible Magnetic Bed Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet 235x235mm(9.25x9.25inch) for Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3/Ender 5/Ender 5 Pro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
I started printing on a Makergear M2 that my work gave me for free. It’s a $2,000 printer that came with a glass bed.
All I ever had was adhesion issues.
Kapton tape helped, but it’s pretty weak when heated-so I was always replacing it just to be able to print well… on a $2,000 printer.
Then one day I saw (mind you glass beds are a pain in the ass-because they have to be clipped down in some fashion to secure them) a “Buildtak magnetic removable print bed system” on a website called “PartsBuild”.
My work is a family owned wire harness facility in Ohio. We try to buy local, and always USA made if we can. Both Makergear, and PartsBuild are local Ohio based companies. Makergear actually uses our harnesses on their printers-which is how I ended up with a free one.
Anyway… I put the Buildtak system on. INSTANT AND MAGNIFICENT CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. You can pull the bed off because it’s just held on by rare earth magnets. It’s not glass so it won’t break if you accidentally bang it off something. The “buildtak” surface is an adhesive surface that uses 3M to stick to the “spring steel” build surface that is removable. Thus-the buildtak portion is replaceable.
That concept made me dig for the best stick on bed material-which led me to “PEI”!

Invest in powdered coated PEI bed or print on painter’s tape. I’ve used both with great success. This one in particular 3D Printer Flexible Magnetic Bed Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet 235x235mm(9.25x9.25inch) for Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3/Ender 5/Ender 5 Pro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
I have the comgrow one in my Amazon cart. Just wondering which people used .
3D Printer Flexible Magnetic Bed Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet 235x235mm(9.25x9.25inch) for Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3/Ender 5/Ender 5 Pro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_fabc_Y7YEBPRJ5MH7D56EXWF6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Print first layer slow 10-15mm/s and about 240C. The rest can be printed at 40mm/s at 230C. Cooling fan @ 50% or less depending if you need to bridge in your print or not.
I had good luck printing on painter’s tape or on PEI sheet 3D Printer Flexible Magnetic Bed Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
I print exclusively in PETG and have no issues with this bed: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
I’m sure they sell them sized for the CR10 as well.
Before investing in that bed I just printed on painter’s tape over a glass bed which also worked well.
Congrats! Could never get PETG to stick consistently to bare glass. Cleaning and leveling many many times to no avail. Used painter’s tape for a long time which worked very well but it required constant changing and left seam stripes on prints. I finally invested in a magnetic flexible PEI build plate and have had no issues and no hassle of needing to methodically clean: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
Theoretically using the lighter PEI sheet as compared to the heavier glass bed should produce slight better surfaces, but I never really noticed a difference. I probably never printed fast enough for the weight issue to arise.
I highly suggest investing in one of these: 3D Printer Flexible Magnetic Bed Build Surface Adhesive Plate PEI Sheet 235x235mm(9.25x9.25inch) for Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3/Ender 5/Ender 5 Pro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX
If you keep greasy mits off it and allow it to cool before prying off prints it’ll serve well for quite a while.
Another vote for PEI. Incredible results.

I’m using the comgrow PEI sheet and it’s working well for PETG. I had one print the lifted on the edges, but no issues once I added a brim. And leveling worked great with a feeler gauge.

Looks like it is currently unavailable but there are others like it. Stiff and no clamps required.
I haven't tried any steel nozzles. I bought a set of generic brass nozzles since they were inexpensive. I swap them if I change from pla to perv.
Go ahead and order something like this pei sheet it is a massive improvement over the stock bed and has all the same benefits. I also recommend a BL touch.
Yeah I use the Creality PEI sheet, works for both PETG and PLA, however I have had minimal success with polycarbonate. Flexes pretty well and stays decently flat. The included magnetic sheet is THICC and has solid pull force.
I agree. I used the juice for a while and it works but boy is it messy. The creality PEI spring steel plate is amazing. No spray, no juice, no glue. I crank it up to 115 and no adhesion issues and warping still happens but much less frequently with the higher bed temps.
I print exclusively with abs and this is all I ever use for adhesion.
https://www.amazon.com/Creality-Removable-Flexible-Magnetic-235x235mm/dp/B082PFL8TX
Hope this helps!
Hello I print exclusively with ABS. I’m not an expert, just a germaphobe that has had some spare time at home since March. I’ve found that the creality PEI steel plate is almost foolproof, no glue, spray, chanting or animal sacrifice required. I’ve had very few issues since I started using it. Set the bed to 102 and HE to 245. Be warned, PEI is very sticky, I tried some PETG and could not get it off the bed and I ruined my PEI sheet. Also, I use Atomic Fiber ABS it works so well I just dropped $200.00 on a 3.5kg carbon reinforced roll! I hope this helps.
This will help your process, happy printing.
https://www.amazon.com/Creality-Removable-Flexible-Magnetic-235x235mm/dp/B082PFL8TX
I just noticed that you don’t have an enclosure. That’s also important with abs. After a ton of trial and error I went nuts and built a cabinet for mine, but you could probably just use a large cardboard box. Call it the EHE (Ender Hobo Enclosure) tm
I had this happen as well. I didn't want to go with glass personally so I bought the pei removable magnetic stuff and I really enjoy it. I have been using it for probably ~3 months now with no issues. I do print with skirts most of the time. pei bed from Amazon for reference
This is what I have, will never go back to glass or anything else.

I bought from this exact link Creality Removable PEI Flexible... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It appears they are out of stock right now though.
I don't know. Maybe a little rougher? It's this one.
gotcha, all this time i thought it must be rough.
upon looking at my order, i see it is not Creality brand after all. here's the link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX?th=1. i bought the same thing 1.5 years ago according to amazon but it was totally different and rough.
Disagree, I have all of those things. I have a Creality glass bed, and ontop of that I put a removeable magnetic PEI sheet.
most should be good if you get the right size. this is the one I have https://www.amazon.co.uk/PEI-Flexible-Heated-235x235mm-Ender/dp/B082PFL8TX
So much better than the glass bed
I would get the Creality PEI sheet instead. I tried the glass bed first but using tape, glue, and hairspray didn't give me near the adhesion of a PEI sheet. I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082PFL8TX
PLA and PETG sticks like glue to it until it cools and then pops right off. Much better than the glass bed or original bed. It is a metal sheet that sticks to the magnetic bed.
I picked this one up for my v2, wouldn't know if it's the BEST but it works https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_VRM4XHAPVB0CNKRR27ZA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

That said, the images they show now are a smooth one, when I got it though it was textured so that’s weird.
This looks more like what I have: HICTOP Flexible Steel Platform with PEI Surface and Magnetic Bottom Sheet with Adhesive 235x235mm for Ender-3 Pro, Ender-3 V2,Ender-3 3D Printers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08PFHBR2D/

BLTouch and PEI sheet ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX ). When glue sticks and hair spray drive you up the wall, buy the PEI sheet and PLA and PETG will stick to it like magic. Just make sure not to take the part off until it cools and it will pop off. You have to also not gouge it with the corner of a scraper (speaking from experience by trying to pry the part off before it cooled).

The hot end is standard with a customized fan shroud:

Been using this one for about a year (December 2020 I installed it) - every print has stuck down perfectly and not a mark on it.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B082PFL8TX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Both ABS and PLA no trouble at all.
This is the one I got. No screws involved, the magnetic part sticks to the bed with adhesive

Creality Removable PEI Flexible... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082PFL8TX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. This is what I got but all it's showing now is the powder coated surface
I just picked up a Voxelab Aquila not too long ago and can vouch for it at least. Aquila is pretty much a clone of the Ender 3 V2 from what I'm aware of. There are some minor tweaks such as an extruder mount which is more spaced out(which is a big plus if you want to upgrade to a BMG extruder), BLTouch mount hole spacing is different(can print an adapter if you want to add this mod), board is different but seems to be identical in function, and has a landscape screen.
The Ender 3 I think does not have silent stepper drivers. The E3 V2/Aquila isn't a quiet machine by any means because of its fans, but the steppers are much quieter than most printers I've used. There are some other mods, but I think the E3 V2/Aquila is better in general than the regular E3, so yeah.
Regarding mods, I think it's probably good to get your printer setup in its stock form first and printing nicely. I have these mods which I can recommend:
Flexible PEI plate. Find the 235x235 ones, the spray coated matte textured ones will also work with PETG while the smooth ones shouldn't be used with PETG. I have https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082PFL8TX/ but this similar one https://www.amazon.com/HICTOP-Flexible-Platform-235x235mm-V2%EF%BC%8CEnder-3/dp/B08PFHBR2D? is marginally cheaper if you clip the 20% coupon.
The issue with a flexible PEI plate is that it might be a bit more warped than the stock glass bed. Thus, I recommend you get a BLTouch 3.1 or CRTouch and print out https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4909345 and pick up 2 m3 bolts as you'll need them to fully secure the device to the mount. This upgrade will require flashing new firmware though, I recommend https://www.reddit.com/r/VoxelabAquila/comments/n8g8zp/how_to_install_the_custom_alex_firmware_on_your/
The firmware above will also have a vertical LCD orientation, so print out a new lcd mount if you'd like.
Another two mods you can consider are:
Capricorn tubing. This generally is for if you'd like to print filaments which require hire temperatures like PETG as regular PTFE tube will degrade faster at the high temps. However, I found that capricorn tubing has a narrower inner diameter which puts a little more strain on the extruder. So the next mod:
BMG Extruder. You can probably pick up a clone on aliexpress for under $10 and it should be good enough. Avoid the metal one, just get the regular right handed plastic one. You'll need to set your e-steps to 415 as it's geared down for more torque, but this has much more pushing power than the stock extruder which is known to fail after a while. I would probably recommend ordering this asap and just waiting for the slow boat.
I setup these two with the guide of this video, it puts less pressure on the extruder but lets me print hotter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tCxO17XZtw&feature=youtu.be . Only downside is filament feeding can be tricky as it catches the edge of the washer/ptfe, just cut your filament as pointy as possible and it goes in fine.
Keep an eye out on /r/3dprintingdeals as these items come up fairly often and you can save a few bucks if you just wait a little bit while printing with a stock Aquila.
buy overture filament, they'll give you adhesive beds for free with each roll.
but for your case
its gonna work well in your printer
The stock magnetic bed is truly terrible. Get a PEI sheet.
Yeah, that original magnetic surface is terrible. Try this instead, you'll thank me later lol
Try the PEI magnetic sheet and ditch the glass I love mine. Also use the CHEP bed level file.
