and i also highly suggest creative mathematics by h.s. wall. it is a book intended to be tackled without much background, leading you into analysis, calculus, and even differrential geometry in a way that is very constructive. he lays down ideas which you seek to fill in the blanks with proofs. i.e., you get to do real mathematics without drudgery! you an find old copies (same edition) for cheap. and local libraries probably have it.
