The rack is a Quest CBS-2257 bought locally in South America. Tried googling the model but cant find it anywhere. PDU from Amazon is a CyberPower PDU41001.
I also replaced the stock fans in the USG Pro 4 and Synology NAS for their Noctua equivalents - the whole thing is whisper quiet. Still, added the Cloudplate T2 for a bit of airflow just in case.
It’s a “CyberPower PDU41001 Switched PDU, 120V/15A, 8 Outlets, 1U Rackmount https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076MHL3VG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_AuWgFb10JEZ4B”
Yeah, okay, I'll bite:
3x TE Connectivity KUP-5A55-120 relays (for harsh environments)
1x "Mean Well" 60W/12V power supply
1x PhidgetSBC4 single-board computer running Debian Linux
(provides remote control and switching signalling to the relays) - $120 + S&H - https://www.phidgets.com/?&prodid=969
2x Phidgets 4 TMP_1101 Thermocouples (you know, for safety!)
3x Phidgets 0/0/4 USB relay thing
1x Chinesium-class 1U metal enclosure
The Rest
BOM total: $545, plus shipping, plus (this rocket surgeon's hourly rate * however many unholy hours went into this thing)
Now, lets compare that to this random remote-controllable PDU I just found: https://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-PDU41001-Switched-Outlets-Rackmount/dp/B076MHL3VG
CyberPower PDU41001 Switched PDU - 120V/15A - 8 Outlets - 1U Rackmount - Remote controllable over Ethernet - Tiny screen with useful readout - Remote monitoring over Ethernet - Proposition 65 warning so you know how much cancer it will give you
$249 shipped next day with Prime
The choices are yours and yours alone. Good luck.
ALSO: someone mentioned Baytech PDUs. I second that, they are fantastic and their reps are very nice. Back in ~2012 we asked them to draw a cat and include it with our invoice. They did. This is what we got back: https://imgur.com/XQcGepE
